We are ever more closer to an Iranian-Israeli war which will be an unmitigated disaster, will lead to more innocent people dying and will likely not make any of us any safer. It can still be stopped. It must still be stopped.

First time I’ve seen Northern lights in person. Never expected to see them from Davis! By naked eye, it was a slight hue in sky. But enough that my son could see it from his bedroom window (yes, I woke him up!) 2-3 sec long exposure on iPhone brought out more detail.

My department @ucdavis is hiring a tenure-track neuroscientist. Emphasis on human but also animal models, for computational folks OR experimentalists who don't need wetlab space (e.g. research in the EMU, OR, scanner, etc.). 👇 1/2

Our paper is out at @CellCellPress! w/ @roozbeh_kiani, C. Machens, @AllanMancoo, C. Hatch. Comparing motion and face categorization tasks, we find the opposite ordering of LIP responses with stimulus strength in the two tasks. 1/ cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092…

July 22 (with forward slash) is pretty close.
Our irrational convention for writing dates gives us π day, whereas inhabitants of more rational cultures that use day/month/yr, are deprived of this transcendental experience, because April has only 30 days.
