CASA echoes the call for a stronger immigration system. Recent uncertainty has put our reputation at risk, but rebuilding a system that attracts & retains the worldβs best talent and supports economic growth is possible.

Canada deserves a high-quality immigration system which attracts the best and brightest from around the world. However, the uncertainty caused by recent immigration reforms has resulted in significant damage to Canada's reputation and our pipeline of highly-qualified talent.
Canadaβs leading research universities have experienced modest growth in international student numbers while offering a world-class academic experience and extensive student supports.
The federal government was right to explore measures that can alleviate some of the growing pressures, but changes should not come at the expense of our ability to welcome the best and brightest.
U15 Canada provided a submission to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, outlining how the government must now rebuild Canadaβs reputation, implement a distinctions based approach which promotes excellence and protect Canada's talent pipeline for graduate students.

A break from the usual tweets to remind you all to register to vote if you haven't already (today is the deadline!)

Estimates suggest that 4 million + young people still haven't registered. That's enough to change the results of the election.

Any tips on preparing for a PhD defense? I didn't have to defend my MA so very unchartered territory for me! #AcademicTwitter

We are proud to announce our sister podcast "The Animal Highlight."
The Animal Highlight started out as a segment of Season 3 in which @ClaudiaFTowne said facts about animals. It has morphed into a wonderful collaborative platform.
