Fastest way to grow as an artist:
Do the thing you are most afraid of.
And then do it again.
And again.
Most Actors are rudderless because they are focused on the HOW without knowing the WHO, the WHY, and the WHERE
Answer these questions and your path will become clear
1. Who are you?
2. Why do you want this?
3. Where are you going?
4. How do you get there?

If you like games & filmmaking this is a must-watch.
Massive thanks to @mrsambarlow, @nataliewatson, @manongage, @MohlinCharlotta, @hanschristopher & the rest of the cast for talking to us.
Our ability to reason is a superpower that only humans have. Learning to reframe failures as valuable lessons was one of the most important mindset shifts I’ve made in both my life and acting career.
If you aren’t aware of the chords you can play, how is your representation or casting supposed to know?
Something that’s helped me in choosing classes and teachers:
Look for teachers that leave you with questions (only you can answer), not answers.
The questions will force you to seek answers from within. That’s the work necessary to connect to character and story on a deeper level.
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.” -Proust
Something that’s really helped me connect with character on a deeper level is to ask the question:
Why did this character choose me?
The magic lies in answering that question.
Over the 14 years of my acting journey I’ve found that when things get hard that if I can tap into my ‘why’ (my reason for wanting to tell stories) I can get through anything.
What’s in my audition kit 😂:

The Actor as a Business:
1. Mindset
2. Skillset
3. Personal Brand
4. Materials
5. Representation
6. Casting Relationships
7. Network
8. Publicity
9. Activism
10. Financial Strategy
Being able to truthfully evaluate and accept where you are weakest (free of judgment) becomes a road-map to your quickest path to growth and transformation in your art.

5 Things I’d do if I had to start my acting career over today:
1. Put myself on tape 100 times. (Just explore)
2. Find local film schools and volunteer
3. Read for any/all actors I know
4. Find mentors early (the M team)
5. Create & lead an actors accountability group.
The most growth I’ve had as an artist came when I began to view acting class as playground not a proving ground.
Pro tip for actors who recently booked:
Ad the project on IMDb immediately after shooting as ‘Actor’ or ‘Actress’
Just attach a photo of the call-sheet showing your role
Post production can sometimes take over a year and it will look like you were attached to the project! 😉
Art fuels the artist.
5 things I do to to refuel
1. Books or Poetry
2. Deep dive into a favorite recent performance
3. See a live Show/Performance
4. Finding real people who’s stories need to be told
5. Exploring nature and new things
