The AFL has nailed the Gather Round fixture pretty much. About time the Lions got an AO game and the Sunday night Zak Butters Cup sells itself. Freo-Hawks on the Saturday night is a beauty also. Keen to know more about the AFL's 'Moomba Parade' on the Friday. Bands and floats?

This would make excellent late Friday night footy content @7afl @FOXFOOTY

Brilliant American perspective on Wharfie Time from the always excellent @rodger Today in Sports! The Wharfie Time Saga sports.cool/p/wharfie-time-a…

Calsher Dear wasn’t a walk-up start in Melbourne’s best 23 in Rd 1 next year, but the pitch from Sam Mitchell to convince him to stay must have been one of his best. Hawk fans are rejoicing after letting a Kennedy walk in 2010.

Melbourne-based board member of the Tasmania Devils, with oversight for football is the logical next step for Chris Fagan. After a long and well earned break. What a coach he has been! Can’t think of too many better outhouse to penthouse runs as engineered by Fagan at the Lions.

Grand Final #45. Always a privilege to be here.

Outstanding contributions once again. Who we doing next year @LindaCPearce?

Champion of the game. And a Caulfield Bear!

Add Kevin Sheedy to the Essendon people who thought the Zach Merrett deal should have gone down 12 months ago. “It’s all about the next premiership” he just told the Maccabi Vic GF breakfast. @1116sen

If you’re from the ‘rules are rules’ school then you can’t argue that the free kicks against the Hawks in the last minute of the prelim were all correctly paid … but that Lachie Neale should be cleared to play in the Grand Final.

Hawk nuffie already!

Three times those misses early in the third term have cost the Hawks. This time it was fatal. Great season. Not quite there yet. Lions incredible. Again.
