Narrator: It mattered.
This book is fantastic. I'm proud of Brian's work here and can't wait to give copies away.
Today is release day for my latest book Exodus and the Mission of God's Holy People.
It's the product of teaching Exodus for 25+ years as well as my PhD research on Exodus 15:1–21.
I've organized the book around two key ideas:
God's wasn't merely for Israel against the Egyptians; God was for Israel for the sake of all creation including the Egyptians.
It was easier for God to get Israel out of Egypt than it was for God to get Egypt out of Israel.
In other words, Exodus is the great act of salvation in the Old Testament that frees Israel to be God's holy missional community for the sake of the world to the glory of God.
You can get a copy today at Amazon or directly from the publisher Invite press.
Thanks to @ahc's talks at New Room, I'm massively scaling back my screen time.
So, I'd like to thank Razorbacks football for helping me turn off the tv this evening.
I thought for sure Caleb Williams had torn his Achilles tendon the way he reacted. Finding out it was a hamstring pull and he'll only be out a week reminds me of this.

When I was 15, I went to the Memphis St. - Arkansas game at the Pyramid when we still had Day, Mayberry, and Big O. We lost to Penny Hardaway. I had on Razorbacks Zubaz pants and two Memphis State fans tried to pull them down on the way out. I have loathed them ever since.
Matthew Johnson retweeted
An utter collapse by Arkansas. Rosters aren't even comparable. Hogs give up an 18-point lead because they all too often compete like the game is over. Attitude. Effort. Terrible time for a fumble - AGAIN - but it NEVER should have come down to that. #wps
I grew up watching Memphis State get the best of us with Penny Hardaway in basketball and losing who knows how many in football. Which is to say no matter how badly my joints hurt, this is making me feel like a teen again.
