At AfroTech? Come build with us.
We’re running a Buzz workshop this morning at 9 in Houston. See you there 🐝

Can confirm building is very fun at @blocks right now…
Block's @RagavanThurair says Jack Dorsey still operates like a startup founder, personally diving into AI model architecture and pushing his team to "build the crazy thing":
"@jack takes huge risks, and he's quite visionary. We work directly with him."
"He still has this founder attitude of, we should build the crazy thing, we shouldn’t shy away from it, we should take more risks."
"I don't know how he manages all of this stuff, cause Block is a big company. And still he has time to literally deep dive into the architecture of the model with us."
@blocks
Come say hi!
teapawt.org/blocks/status/21177541…
On Nov 10 in San Francisco, hear from @jack on how we’ve been rebuilding as an intelligence company, and how other companies can too.
We’re introducing Builderlab, an enterprise intelligence toolkit built by Block.
Join us for a hands-on afternoon at the Builderlab Studio: builderlabstudio.rsvpify.com…
There is no spoon!
The distinction between hardware and software is compressing even more.
Just wiped an old slow completely battered up Samsung A9 phone and installed unix (Termux) so I can run my very own CellOS completely designed the way I wanted it.
Voice controlled, agent first. GUI on top, Unix below for tool calls and monitoring.
Can reprogram itself, add and remove views, check my network router, monitor for anything I want to monitor for. It can make phone calls, send messages email, login to wifi, check it's own situation, update it and if needed it can use a cloud programming environment to create more fundamental changes and services.
I can monitor my @buzzdotxyz relay and have moneypenny write messages to it.
I can even use it to create a new view on the fly (in this version it messed up layers, it's fixed and you got the point)
This is still very early and got some hickups, but the signal is clear. We will all have our very own uniquely designed phoneOS using standard protocols to communicate.

Plugins plugins plugins
Buzz runs on plugins so you can make the app your own

Replying to @Hello_World @QwenDevs
Sensational man.
We’re burning the midnight oil now !

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵
Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math.

Full writeup on shared compute coming soon. Until then, here’s another look at what plugins can do.
Left (Machine 1): Agent Palmer has no LLM attached. It runs entirely on shared compute from the relay.
Right (Machine 2): A regular MacBook running a local @QwenDevs model, sharing its compute with anyone on the network who needs it.
The little black square: Machine 2’s floating window. It shows live activity even when you’re outside the shared compute view.
Bonus: I added USB support to an ESP32 unit that stays synced with Machine 2.
@Mesh_LLM handles all of it behind the scenes.
IMO shared compute is still extremely underutilized.
Think of it as blue-collar AI: it runs quietly on your relay and handles background tasks and batch jobs, powered entirely by your community’s machines.
And since @buzzdotxyz is open source, you can run all of this on your own servers. That’s one small step for buzz, but one giant step toward sovereignty for all mankind.
If you want to try out plugins yourself you can get started already today. There is no change to the actual server for now. github.com/block/buzz-app/

Trial & error is the true workhorse of progress.
Not simulation, not pure inference, not Bayesianism, not statistisk, not priors, not superintelligence, not Eureka.
Just pure unadultered perspiration based on a novel idea.

Hey @Hello_World @buzzdotxyz , any plans to cut a new "buzz-relay" release? The crate is still at 0.2.1, but "main" has picked up a lot of relay/database/ACP work since that release. A newer tagged relay would make self-hosted deployment/pinning much clearer.
