Honestly if you’re getting banned from Farcaster you’re probably the type of person who would have made that place worth visiting

The past month and a bit has been hard mentally for some reason or another and I just want to say thank you to everyone for being here 💕
I am so lucky to be in the position and be where I am today.
If you’re feeling the same way just know you aren’t alone 💕 #MentalHealth

So the reason they want you to use a digital ID card on your Apple or Google Wallet is because showing it unlocks your phone and then the cops can seize your unlocked phone and search it legally without having to get past your password or pin code.

a disasterclass lol
- raise $128m
- build a great, unique browser (arc)
- convince people to switch (a herculean task in itself)
- sell to atlassian late 2025
- discontinue arc (cult following) late 2026
atlassian will end up taking browser company and loom to the graveyard
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.
That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.
Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.
We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:
· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.
Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

Everyone in the comments is saying the same thing :
ARC WAS PERFECT.
The team is acting blind by ignoring all of that, we don't care about an AI browser, we want a reliable one, and arc represents that perfectly.
sometimes idk what's going in people's mind to take such decision and ignore the visible signs that their decision is not appreciated by their community

Imagine you accomplish the herculean task of convincing people to switch off of Chrome as their default browser (something Microsoft couldn't even do with billions of dollars) and then you decide to just throw it all away.

Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.
Replying to @allmodelsRwrong
@allmodelsRwrong i wrote up a temp check for a @gitcoin x @breadcoop collab: an artizen-inspired crowdfunding app people can actually trust.
we'd keep the fun parts (up to 4x match, leaderboards, fiat ux) and rebuild what sits underneath:
- match on-chain + visible before a round opens
- match funded only from yield that already accrued
- principal locked in a permanent fund
- no single person can stop payouts
- round rules in the contracts, changeable only for future rounds
thousands of ppl just learned what matching feels like, then what losing it feels like. i'd love to catch them while they're still energized.
you've lived this harder than i have (bread got caught in it too). where's the design wrong, and what would the mvp need for you to trust it with your own community?

Have been enjoying my morning reading Airbnb owners meltdown that Airbnb no longer allows them to make guests do a list of custom closeout chores like dishes, beds, and trash removal.

Thanks for sharing the proposal and I'm very excited / hopeful that we can build something that can take the best from Artizen while keeping out the failure modes it had.
Some extra thoughts on the proposal on my side:
- one of the main issues with Artizen in the long run was the lack of financial transparency and we can solve this be keeping things onchain
- keeping principal and only paying out yield is a proven method for long term capital accumulation while doing good
- this very much aligns with what we've been building these past years with @breadcoop and we've been able to prove it while giving out over $60k to projects in grants
- giving out the same multiples as what Artizen was giving was just not sustainable so we should be more reaslistic / honest about it by providing financial transparency
- I think there's a lot to learn from the gamification mechanics with points that are worth continuing because it allowed curational voice for people even if they didn't support with funding
As you said, we were also affected by what happened so we are quite motivated to get this right and provide a fundraising mechanism for similar kinds of projects!

I think we’ve gotten a bit obsessed with personal brands as a proxy for competence. Now everyone is expected to perform their work on top of doing it.
Some of the best people I’ve worked with have almost no presence online. Their time goes into the work itself and the results show up in the business rather than on their profile. Building an audience and building a company are related skills but not the same one and being good at one doesn’t guarantee the other in either direction.
A big part of most jobs is also making other people the face of it - the founder, the product, the team.
Someone putting their energy into their own feed isn’t automatically better at that, sometimes it’s the opposite

I do not understand cold calling. If i need something, I will go look it up and pursue it. Never once have I ever received a cold call for something I actually needed or wanted.
