Understanding comes from taking the time to listen, not waiting for your turn to talk.

Got a chance to take Coach Harry Tholen out to a @SFSaintsBSB intrasquad today. Coach Powell brought the guys over and introduced him to the team. Coach started the baseball program and played their 1st Gms in 1982. Really blessed to have played and coached at SF. @santafesaints

Yesterday the new coachbeede.com opened. If you have not walked through it yet, start with the question your family is carrying right now, whether it is eligibility, the money, the evaluation or the decision, and follow it from there. Every answer on the site is the same truth I give away here, organized so you do not have to scroll for it.

Somewhere this morning, there's a high school baseball player getting ready for school. He's checked his phone a hundred times this week, hoping a college coach might reach out. Nothing. No offers. No big recruiting headlines. No guarantees that any of this will work out. But after school today, he'll head right back to the cage, the weight room, or the field. Because he still believes. And maybe that's the part of this game we don't celebrate enough. The kids who keep showing up when the world hasn't given them a single reason to believe they're next. If that's you, keep going. Your story is still being written. ⚾️

@USASCOUTBALL Lucas Chafin Great B2B here as he shoots this down the LF line for a double. Super fast hands with juice

@USASCOUTBALL Rhett Williams Dominating this morning. Explosive heater with a hammer CB. Able to land all pitches for strikes. Good follow

Bo Davidson Making his MLB debut hitting in the 3 hole for the Giants. No Perfect Game Ranking. Never Drafted. Did not play D1 baseball. Juco Bandit. Incredible job by the scout that signed him Paul Faulk. Players If you are relentless and genuinely outworking the competition. Believe in yourself.

Every player I ever coached was asking me the same 3 questions. They just never said them out loud. It didn't matter what the lineup looked like. It didn't matter what the scoreboard said. They just needed to know 3 things. And every leader, every coach, every parent is being asked the same ones. Question #1: Can I trust you? Trust isn't given. It's earned. You earn it through transparency and honesty, not when things are going well, but when things are hard. Do what you say you're going to do. Tell them what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Show up the same way whether you're winning or losing. You lose trust fast. You build it slow. Question #2: Can you make me better? This one is on you as a leader. They're not just asking about their swing or their stats. They're asking: do you see me clearly enough to help me grow? Question #3: Do you care about me? This is the most important one. And you can't fake it. You can't lead anybody if they don't believe you care about them beyond what they produce on the field. Three questions. No stat tracks them. But they determine everything.
