a short and simple guide to reducing (not ending, haven’t figured that out yet) suffering:
1. go outside. often
2. don’t stay inside too long. inside is a fine place but overstaying your welcome will make you sad (ime)
v4 | NOW VIDEO - Oct 2026
i made a Now Video which is essentially a Now Page for the modern-day internet. i used to love Now Pages on personal sites and have been wanting to make an equivalent for a while (more like constantly internally harassed by the idea)
it does the same thing as now pages used to do & let's others know: where someone is, what they're doing & what's important to them right now
i'd love to see now vids on other ppl's accounts. i'm having a ton of fun making these vids and you might too
here's a story about light addiction, how coffee made western culture make sense to me and the magical 'easy way' books
brought to you by months of thinking about addiction as the foundation of modern culture
"All addiction, at its heart, is addiction to unconsciousness... The addict is always trying to block out consciousness by covering it in stimulation or numbness. This means the cure to addiction is always more consciousness."

a terrible yet great book

v2: a tired(literal) end of day video about a more persistent, tiredness(metaphorical) i've been feeling recently
tired of myself. with a lot of love. + starting to tell the story of the last months
it feels great to make these vids.
mostly cause it feels fantastic to make exactly the kind of thing i want to see on the internet: telling stories, creatively experimenting, thinking out loud (as opposed to giving advice - i think we've advice peaked, trying to hack attention, presenting a particular image)
secondly cause it's SO freeing to single-shot a video without notes or plans, be real/normal, not fret too much about what i look like - as someone who reaally cares about what she looks like - and let it exist where hundreds of people can see it
i'm excited to see what these vids will want to become after 50 → 100
can someone send me an instinct invite. or, tell me if it's not worth using instinct / should i stick with dots, muse or something else?
thank you <3
if you enjoyed this video and want more Tara, i put all her guided nervous system exercises from videos into a single audio library: yt.artofaccomplishment.com/g…

For the guide mentioned, go on YouTube for the next time you want to practice

i’m extremely proud of this vid and to have collabed with Tara & @CatGanson7147 on it. dream team, dream video
2 observations from starting to use twitter again
1/ i’m closer to believing that ideas are collective / move through many humans at once.
i saw tweets from 2 mths ago about the exact themes i was grappling with at that time - when i was mostly solo in antigua and guatemalan lakes. i know for sure i wasn’t seeing anything else / consuming anything else that would’ve made me ride the meme-train. before, when i was active on twitter i’d write off this collective thinking as “well, we’re all infecting each other with our ideas all day so ofc it’s shared” but now i can’t help but think ideas are like global weather that move through us rather than individual arisings
2/ i’m immediately pulled in by the feeling that we’re living in golden tech age. i can feel the pull/seduction of tech and the tech-passion much more strongly than i did the last half a year. it’s a different state to be in than what i think the majority of the world inhabits and it’s cool to see how it shapes my thoughts and desires v quickly

It’s feeling really magical inside of Shopify right now. It’s clearly the greatest time in the history of tech industry right now. I hope it feels similar everywhere else.

a video update
i've been recording a lot of vids recently, and for the last 6 mths+ i've felt a nagging call to post vids publicly, but i've been putting it off because i've been scared
these days i'm really tired of fear. i'm fatigued by my own fear. and i say that as gently and lovingly as i can
the last time i had this mix of desire and fear was when i started writing online under my name. repeatedly publishing fundamentally changed my life
thing is, i like my life as it is right now, i'm not sure i want it to change
when i wrote online i gained so much freedom in every part of my life - i started being more of myself everywhere in my life because i had the chance to be more of myself in my writing. i feel ready for whatever the next arena/sandbox of growing expressive freedom is
hey - i took time away from twitter the last few months. for 2 reasons: 1. i needed a break from the world of abstractions and ideas 2. a lot of my head-space was dedicated to growing AOA
is this site still usable? are people still here? scrolling the tl it seems it's become mostly promotional and marketing/business focused?
i want to get a sense of whether to re-engage here or maybe go start a youtube channel instead for more community/connection
okaaaay, hell yeah. then i'll give this a go 🤞 i have no idea if i can sustain it anymore, but i love seeing so many familiar names and faces (in some cases avatar)
thank you for the love <3
