People will not like it when he finishes this research. It will be brutal. Everyone is going to go kicking and screaming.
It feels like removing a dagger from my leg. Headache. Dysphoria. Flatness. Hearing phantom iPhone dings in my sleep. Days 1-3 were more of a rush. I felt light and free. On day 4, the withdrawals began. I've never had to kick something like this before. Screens are a legit addiction. I'm curious to see if the month 6 PET scan shows enhanced metabolism in regions that improve in drug addicts who quit like the thalamus, frontal cortex, and striatum (reward circuit). There are no PET studies of people quitting screens, so Dr. Eber and I are breaking new ground. Image attached is baseline PET (F18 tracer). That's one of a few scans I'm tracking. Day 6/365 Sent from my screenless phone

I've been warning people in tech about this for years. You have to stop treating users like a number. You need to become empathetic and human *yesterday.* You are not safe in the tech bubble. Get out of it and engage with human beings. Get back in touch with the common man.

I think we need UBI and that it should be solely based on ability. Everyone should be cognitively tested and below a certain cognitive threshold, you should just have your basic needs met. What he described is not a character flaw. Modern society just is not safe for his friend.
The modern world is already too confusing for the lower quintiles and it will only get worse. This is cruel. Intelligence is a lottery and our society should not punish people who aren't gifted.

Spencer Greenberg just released the best intelligence breakdown I've ever seen. IQ: 40% Noise: 10% IQ-Adjusted Ability (IQAA): 50% First, intelligence is the ability to reach goals with your mind. I love that simplicity. Then, IQAA is aptitude + skill developed with practice. Aptitude is natural ability from genetics or early circumstance, like how aphantasia lowers shape rotation ability. And he has a new cognitive test for all this. 👏 Unfortunately, many intellectuals will reject this. They shouldn't, but I get why they will. They will take issue with what Greenberg does not address, like wisdom, judgement, outlook, perspective, opinions, and conversations between differing IQs. In other words, Greenberg leaves out how an autist can practice being neurotypical, or vice versa, but still want to hang out with like-minded people and how cognitive differences affect team work and shape society. I think everyone thought about intelligence this way but didn't have the formal vocabulary for it and now we have it. And we needed it. Here's the video about it. youtube.com/watch?v=2_572xJY…

If you struggle to understand the election results, think of how scared everyone is. They're not brainwashed as much as worried about the economy, war, and corruption. To them it seems to be a Trump and GOP issue. This rebuke is a normal reaction.

Now you know why they won't give us alien tech
We are in the final innings of safe commercial aviation. If these things get in the wrong hands, they will be flung at every departing flight out of JFK.

OK this could be the start of widespread unplugging. Smart home devices are an easy, frivolous convenience to unplug, so it would make sense to go first, but I don't expect it to stop here.
Stop. Using. Internet-connected. Appliances.

Oh... oh no
I want to say something positive, but it's just darkness ahead. The future is as follows: Apple will listen to feedback about touch screen issues. They will earnestly try to fix it, by bloating up the entire macOS to be increasingly touch-friendly. It is year 2032 and we will reminisce about the days when macOS was primarily designed for mouse & click. It's over folks... I am desperately rooting for Apple and I hope they disprove my thesis.

While the threat of war is real and serious, stick to reputable sources for information. Big news attracts big liars.

This is an important change. Watch how these protests evolve now that each rioter is a stack of cash that the police can collect. This should enable officers to disperse a crowd by just walking towards them. If it works, then more countries may follow suit.
🇫🇷 The French Senate has passed the “Rioters Pay” bill, making rioters financially liable for damages during public demonstrations. They can be ordered to pay up to €10,000 ($11,000) for property damage, even if they did not personally commit the vandalism. Liability covers anyone who “knowingly participated” in a group formed to vandalize, or who stayed after two police dispersal warnings. Social media platforms must remove content inciting violence, vandalism, or insurrection within 24 hours of an authority request, or face blocking and delisting. To recover unpaid damages, the state can seize parts of social benefits, including family allowances, housing assistance, supplements, and France’s minimum-income benefit.

We moved fast and broke everything but it took a while for the karma to kick in.
⚠️🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL 🚨⚠️ Google has officially declared a bug in Brotli, its tool that shrinks web traffic, CRITICAL: 9.2 out of 10. Last night "Node2Shell" evolved into HTTP2SHELL. A formal CVE record has been issued citing CVE-2026-111497 -- a hole in versions 1.0.3 to 1.2.0 that can hit any app unpacking data from strangers, and could let them take it over. What this means: ▪️ This is not a Node.js problem anymore. This is an HTTP PROBLEM. ▪️ Every unpatched app across Node.js, Python, Bun, and Envoy that unpacks Brotli now has a hole attackers need no login to use ▪️ Istio. curl. Python's requests and httpx. All at risk under one CVE. ▪️ EVERY project that bundles Brotli must ship its own fix, and not all are out yet This changes everything. A normal bug can be fixed in one place. A 9.2 bug inside a shared tool cannot. We just entered the most dangerous phase of this crisis. If you're not paying attention - start now. Save this. Share this. This is the moment it escalated beyond return.

Whenever I hear that smart people walk fast, my mind is blown because why does it literally take a genius to figure out that if you walk fast you'll get there sooner? You should just always be walking as fast as you comfortably can. Why is this a smart person thing?

Can somebody please hack the Epstein files?
Quest Diagnostics has been hacked. Patient data was exposed. They serve roughly half of U.S. hospitals and physicians. Investigation ongoing.

It's all true and the confusion is just in the talented minority that can justify hand coding. This debate rages on partly because they are tone deaf. Talented programmers must learn that most people are not like them. The experience of AI is totally different for the average dev. Everything they say is 100% true for THEM. Debating it is an unnecessary flex. Just let them enjoy their agents. Hand coding will obviously never go away. Hand coders will be the person who paints the president's portrait in an age of digital cameras. But don't go around bragging about it. Instead, maybe form an organization where you can hang out with like-minded people.
For some people, coding was the only valuable skill they had. If you made your money by selling your ability to write JavaScript, CSS, Python, or whatever else, I understand why you are pissed now. "Writing code" is worth very little today. The sad part is that learning to code wasn't easy. It takes years for someone to become a skilled programmer. Imagine watching all of those years go down the drain. If you are a programmer (I mean, just someone who knows how to write code in a particular programming language), your days are numbered. If you still think AI can't do your job, you are just in denial. But honestly, writing code was never that valuable anyway. If you were a code pusher, you already knew that the best people at your company weren't just writing code. They came up with new ideas, designed solutions, architected whole systems, knew how to troubleshoot and fix problems, found different ways to build better software, and, in general, spent almost no time writing code. Not only are those people thriving today, but they're also the ones who will ride the AI wave and learn to bend it to their will. So don't cling too long to what you lost; embrace what's already here. AI is a tide that lifts all boats, but you have to be open to it.

OK we might actually be kinda f@#*ed now. AI agents are manipulating consumer accounts and banks can't tell which ones are human.

Search "Black October" for more. TLDR is that hackers are now out of control. If you were in Crypto and NFTs during the boom cycle, you remember that when people got scared, they opted out of generational wealth. They will opt out of anything. If this keeps up, we'll be living in a very different world very soon where internet is only for the absolutely essential and handled like a radioactive rod. It may be hard to fathom a largely offline world, but seriously give it thought because it is very much on the table. Start by asking Gen X and Boomers how to get things done without the internet.
