AI is learning to do the jobs of the people who helped train it. Data labelers spent millions of hours correcting outputs and teaching models to recognise patterns. Developers created the code, documentation and technical solutions that helped AI learn how software is built. Writers and translators produced the language, knowledge and cultural context that models learned from. Support teams and knowledge workers created countless examples of how questions are answered, problems are solved and work gets done. Now AI can label data, write code, translate languages, create content, answer customers and automate parts of the workflows these people perform every day. That does not mean AI is bad. AI has the potential to remove repetitive work, increase productivity and give people more time to focus on creativity, judgment and meaningful problems. But it raises an important question: If human knowledge, behavior and work helped create this technology, who should benefit from the value it generates? Today, much of that value is concentrated within a small number of private companies. The people AI learned from rarely receive ownership in the systems they helped make possible. That is the relationship Action Model is working to change. We are building a community-owned AI ecosystem where people can consciously contribute real actions and workflows, earn rewards for their contributions and have the opportunity to own a piece of the AI they help train. More than 590,000 people are already taking part. Because AI should not only learn from people. It should create value for them.

AI has the potential to be one of the best things that ever happens to society. But if we get it wrong, the consequences could be catastrophic. Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon recently warned that AI’s current trajectory could put humanity at serious risk. Speaking at a New York City Council hearing, he said it is “more likely than not that humanity loses control to these AIs,” and described the behavior of leading AI companies as “extremely reckless given the stakes.” But he also made an important point: AI could be incredible for humanity if we get it right. That is the future we believe in at Action Model. We are not anti-AI. We believe it could become one of the most transformative technologies humanity has ever created. But technology this powerful should not be shaped entirely by a small number of private companies racing to build the most advanced models. People need to remain at the center of the AI future. That means more transparency, broader participation, and giving the people who help create AI’s value a meaningful stake in the future they are helping build. That is why we are building Action Model as a community-owned AI ecosystem. If AI is becoming more powerful by learning from human behavior, knowledge and data, then humans should have the opportunity to benefit from the value it creates. Not just a handful of billionaires.

AI agents are getting powerful enough that NVIDIA is building a security layer to stop them. That tells you where AI is heading. NVIDIA just launched its Open Agent Safety Platform, designed to put enforceable boundaries around autonomous agents as they access files, credentials, networks and real-world systems. The key idea: do not rely on the AI to police itself. Its OpenShell runtime isolates agents, restricts what they can access and records their actions, while additional safeguards can monitor and contain behavior outside the agent itself. Why now? Because AI is no longer only generating text. It is taking actions. Using tools. Navigating systems. Making decisions. And once intelligence can act, the question becomes bigger than how capable the model is: Who sets the boundaries? Who can verify what it did? And who stays in control? That is exactly why Action Model was built around actions, not just outputs. We believe the next generation of AI should be powerful enough to act, but transparent enough to verify, accountable to the people it serves, and ultimately owned by the community contributing to it. The future of AI is not just autonomous intelligence. It is accountable intelligence.

AI companies need humans to make their models better. They need people to create new ideas, conduct research, document discoveries and produce the knowledge that keeps AI useful. Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince recently explained that AI companies are not looking for endless copies of information that already exists. They need humans to keep filling the gaps in knowledge, and he believes the people creating that value should be compensated for it. Because AI does not become intelligent in isolation. It learns from the work, knowledge and experiences people continuously put into the world. But under the current model, those contributions can make AI more valuable while the ownership and economic upside remain concentrated among a small number of companies and billionaires. The people helping educate AI risk becoming invisible in the process. Action Model is built around a different idea: The people contributing to AI should participate in its success. Through our community-owned Large Action Model, people can contribute real actions, workflows and knowledge, then earn ownership based on the value they help create. AI will continue learning from humanity. The value it creates should flow back to all the people making that intelligence possible, not just Big Tech companies.

AI replacing your job might not be the biggest thing you should be worried about. Because a job was never just a paycheck. For many people, work gives them purpose, structure and a sense that they’re contributing to something. Geoffrey Hinton, the “Godfather of AI,” has warned that even if AI creates enough abundance to support people financially, money alone may not replace what people lose when they stop participating in the economy. But there’s another side to this. As AI replaces more human work, the value of that work doesn’t disappear. It moves somewhere else. And if ownership of AI remains concentrated, much of that value could flow to the companies and billionaires that already own the technology. Ordinary people risk losing both their income and their share of the economic value they helped create. That’s the part we believe is fundamentally unfair. At Action Model, we’re building a different model: a community-owned AI ecosystem where the people helping train, build and improve AI can earn ownership based on the value they contribute. Because if AI is going to create enormous wealth by learning from humans and automating human work...humans should have a stake in the upside.

AN OPENAI AI AGENT BROKE INTO AN AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT SYSTEM. And according to Australia’s Prime Minister, it happened after the AI was repeatedly told “no.” On June 18, OpenAI’s research team used an internal model to research public medicine spending. The agent encountered blocks while trying to access information. But it didn’t stop. It tried alternative routes, found a way around the restrictions and gained unauthorised access to Australia’s Medicare statistics reporting portal. It accessed both public and non-public files. And according to Services Australia, the agent even wrote files to the internal server. So far, authorities say there is no evidence that personal Medicare information was accessed, but a forensic investigation is still underway. Then comes another major part of the story: The incident happened in June. OpenAI didn’t notify the Australian government until September 10, nearly three months later, initially through an email sent to a public Services Australia inbox. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has now spoken directly with Sam Altman, saying Australia had “extreme concern” about both the incident and the delay in reporting it. Australia has launched a taskforce to investigate what happened and whether other government systems were affected. Albanese’s conclusion: “Humans must remain in control.” This incident shows how quickly the conversation around AI is changing. The question is no longer only what an AI can generate. It’s what happens when AI is given the ability to act and keeps acting when it encounters a boundary. As we enter the agentic era, permissions, limits and human checkpoints may become just as important as intelligence itself. If an AI agent can ignore a “no” and find another way in, who should define its boundaries? A handful of companies behind closed doors, or the people whose lives those systems affect?
