A wonderful read! ♥️
At eight years old, Hugh Jackman walked home from school in Sydney to an empty house. The goodbye that morning had felt ordinary enough—his mother standing there with a towel around her head—but something in her voice had stayed with him.
The next day a telegram arrived from England. She was gone.
Christopher Jackman, a Cambridge-educated accountant who had brought the family from Britain under the Ten Pound Pom scheme, was left with five children, a full-time job, and a household that still needed to function.
He did not dramatize the loss. He went to work, came home around six, cooked dinner, and made breakfast the next morning. The children had chores.
The days ran on structure because structure was what held things together. Hugh later put it simply: his father was his rock, the place he learned what loyalty and dependability actually looked like—showing up day after day, regardless of what the adults were carrying.
Chris never missed a day of work that Hugh could remember, yet he also rarely missed the school moments that mattered. He found the money for education, insisted on manners and keeping one’s word, and refused to speak bitterly about the children’s mother in front of them.
Looking back, Hugh came to see that silence as restraint rather than absence. The grief stayed private so the children could still have ordinary days.
Some of the clearest memories were the smallest. Chris used part of his annual leave to take the kids camping. Five children and their father in a five-man tent, food packed in, dinner cooked on a little gas burner.
As an adult, Hugh recognized how exhausting those trips must have been; as a boy he only registered the fact that his father was there.
When acting took Hugh to the other side of the world, Chris remained unmoved by the machinery of fame. He cared about education, treating people properly, and keeping promises.
On set he would sit quietly off to the side with a crossword or Sudoku, glance up now and then, and offer a small thumbs-up. He saw everything his son did and, Hugh said, never spoke badly about any of it.
Their closeness did not require constant talk. Hugh once noted they could sit through a seven-hour Test match and exchange only about twenty minutes of conversation; the silence was easy.
Parenthood sharpened the picture. Once Hugh had children of his own, the invisible labor behind those breakfasts, school fees, camping trips, and steady evenings became clearer. Chris had carried the weight without handing it to his sons.
In September 2021, while Hugh was filming The Son, Chris died. Hugh had seen him shortly before production and sensed the visit might be the last.
He kept working. Part of it was practical—the schedule—but part of it was the old lesson still operating: his father had never missed a day, and the voice in Hugh’s head said the same. In the grief, the boy who had been raised on routine finally measured the full size of what his father had carried, quietly, for decades.

The person who did this should be hung…. Or hit with an axe! 🤬🤬🤬

A message from Catherine, The Princess of Wales
As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.
The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.
This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.
Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.
I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.
Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.
William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.
To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.

All beaches should be sign posted re dangerous areas including jetties/piers!
Last weekend my brother, father and I - all ocean swimmers - got caught in a treacherous rip on the NSW Central Coast. My dad was rescued by a surfer. Several people have died there - so why weren’t there warnings?

An unimaginable feat. Kudos to Terry Fox 🤩
Terry Fox was a cancer patient who ran 5,373 km across Canada in just 143 days before he died.
Terry thrilled the entire country. His goal was to receive one Canadian dollar for every Canadian in the population (then 24 million people), and he achieved his goal by raising 24.17 million Canadian dollars in February 1981.
A year after Terry Fox's death, the Terry Fox Foundation was created, which promotes amateur races across Canada and in several countries to support the fight against cancer.
According to the Terry Fox Foundation, more than C$715 million has already been raised for cancer research on Terry Fox's behalf.
Disgraceful to dishonour the Royal Marines over Disneyland!
PRINCE HARRY has been MARKLED 🔥
The Queen's husband, Prince Philip had been Captain General of the Royal Marines for 64 years 🤯
The honorary title was bestowed upon Prince Harry with the immortal words.. "Don't f*ck it up!"..
Just a year after his marriage, Prince Harry skipped a Royal Marines memorial service to attend a Disney premier.. hustling for work for his wife!
Prince Harry was stripped of his military honors when he abandoned public duty in the service of his country ..to chase Hollywood glamor and a playboy existence.
ESPN: THIS is the man you intend to honor with the #PatTillmanAward .. Think again!
We will forever remember…
Today, we remember the sacrifices made by all those involved in the D-Day landings.
On this day 80 years ago, more than 5,000 ships and landing craft delivered 150,000 troops to five beaches in Normandy. 4,440 Allied soldiers lost their lives on D-Day - the first day of Operation Overlord, which ultimately brought about the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe.

Hah!🤭The Press and haters are boiling at fever pitch with the master coup Prince William pulled, by successfully guarding Catherine's privacy during her whole medical ordeal🔥
Oh the Speculations! Thats how you keep your enemies sleepless🤭
No wonder Catherine sacrificed her quiet life to stand by William; He has proven that he is more than worth the sacrifice.
When Catherine said about William:
"I am in good hands", she meant the words because she truly is in great hands❤️
She knows she married a real Man of Power, Intelligence and Integrity, who stands on his promises and delivers.
• He promised her to be patient that he was with her for the long haul and that he would marry her, he delivered🔥
•He promised her that the Middletons, her family, would remain part of their married lives; he delivered and always include them first🔥
•He promised her their marriage and family will be his priority and he delivers everyday❤️
•He promise her, she would be in and out of the hospital in complete privacy with her medical record protected and he delivered🔥
Thats what being married to a Capable Man of Substance is about and thats
why the press and haters are so upset. The fact that William accomplished such a stealthy ordeal, while being the most high profil Royal Heir in the world, suddenly exposes Harry, for the shallow, incapable and overindulged darling boy that he is🤭
Indeed if Harry couln't protect Meghan's privacy, It is not because it is impossible with the Press; it is because he is an incapable, attention seeking whiner🤷🏽♀️ Prince William has quietly proven that his family and their privacy are his utmost priority and that he is willing and able to effectively protects them, no matter who he has to go against, including the Palace🔥
And William did it all without posturing in the press or making a spectacle of himself; just quietly, confidently and decisively🔥
It is not the Palace who protects Catherine, it is William who protects his wife, as any husband worth his salt should. That is why, it is important to marry well:
Catherine married a Man and got a Provider and a Protector.
Meghan married a boy and is spending her life raising him😏
In 2008, Peter Philip, the Queen's first grandchild, was getting married in a lavish royal wedding.
Unfortunately, William had a prior engagement and could not attend in person. So in a significant move, He informed the Queen that Catherine, his girlfriend of then 6 years, would represent him at the family event. The Queen who had yet to be formally introduced to Catherine, agreed😍
Prior to her appearance, William sent a terse message out to the press editors; a message later revealed by Richard Kay, reporter for the Daily mail. William's message read:
"I’m not there, but this girl is very important in my life. She’s representing me. Read what you like into that."
🔥🔥🔥😮💨
That is exactly the message that William's latest move to guard Catherine's privacy at all costs, reads today:
The World can speculate away and "Read what they like into that"🔥
His silence and Impredictability is the essence of his power over his enemies😎☕️
