(wild) predictions after today's MIT Weight-Space Programming work: 1. Model weights become a programming language that AI can understand, but humans can't. 2. Training and inference will merge. Like human brain, AI could continuously rewrite its own weights while thinking. 3. A new path to RSI: AIs will directly edit each other's weights, evolving together without backprop.

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math. It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training. We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵 Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math. rikiyat.github.io/blog/weight-sp… github.com/RikiyaT/lm_und… huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-0… huggingface.co/RikiyaT/Qwen3.…

Do not quote retweet this or I will be forced to give people $42.0 or $420! This is not engagement farming, it’s 1am and I’m bored AF and we all deserve a 420 break! Do not quote retweet or you might get smashed with X Money

underrated statement here
The only thing that stops a bad guy with an abliterated LLM is a good guy with an abliterated LLM.

as bad as things have gotten in the past 4 days, they are going to get a lot worse before they get better. security leaders, never let a crisis go to waste: please go to your boards and ask for help right now. not for ai, for the basics. (we need to hold on for ~18 months.)

Looks super interesting!
Today, I'm launching Vene: your AI advocate for healthcare. I used to spend a dozen hours a week managing care for my dad, a disabled veteran, and my mom, who has a severe autoimmune disease. Healthcare was a full-time job for my family. Our goal is to end the burden of care for every family: When you're sick, or caring for someone who is, the hard part is everything after the hospital: the referral that never arrives, the test result nobody calls about, the bill that makes no sense, and everything in between. For my dad, he spent hours on the phone to book an MRI. When he showed up, they told him to his face that insurance had stopped covering it. Then insurance told him to call a list of other offices and get the paperwork sent over himself, and he ended up giving up. That’s why we’ve trained Vene to handle the toughest aspects of healthcare: - Coordinating several specialists at once - Challenging surprise bills and treatment denials - Catching missed follow-ups and care gaps My mom uses Vene to coordinate her primary care and endocrinologist, automatically refill and renew her prescriptions, and manage my little sister’s dental appointments. They were my first users, and now over 5,000 families use Vene, and we're deploying it to another 50,000 patients across provider networks in the US.

New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale. Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…

A true renaissance is on the horizon
After six years in stealth, Atomic Machines is out. Our mission: on-demand, universal command of matter. First beachhead: the Matter Compiler, an AI-native manufacturing system that builds working micro-machines from code alone. No per-product tooling. No process development. Different code, different machine.

This is unprecedented. Think about that. How few things are truly unprecedented. You are living through one. Right now. What a joy to be alive.

We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

The rumors around Anthropics Fable 5.5 are getting insane… something almost otherworldly, with a reveal before Anthropic’s IPO. If this lives up to what’s being said, people have no idea what’s coming. Anthropic could be so far ahead that the entire conversation changes overnight.

See your own scan. On a holographic monitor. Color coded anatomy in under 10 minutes. And use your hands to explore it.

We desperately need funding to help revolutionize surgical education. There is no question about it. I am an Ivy League neurosurgeon who coded and built it all himself with AI. Its glasses-free, patient specific, multiple viewers can see it at once and maintain the holographic appearance. Extremely thankful for any support.
