Voting closes in just a few hours! There's still time to vote the NDP out! Show your commitment to your community—make your voice heard! – at Richmond, British Columbia
Happy to join the Taiwanese community for a fun-filled pickleball tournament!
I had a blast picking up a paddle and playing a few matches alongside some great athletes! It was wonderful to see players of all skill levels come together with such enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Events like this truly reflect the vibrant community spirit that keeps Richmond and Metro Vancouver active and connected!
No wonder it’s no longer sustainable. It should be the other way around, in that case, we will have so much more tax revenue for our social services.
The basis of our prosperity begins with a strong private sector economy. Since 2019, B.C. private sector jobs grew 3.3%. Public sector jobs grew 46.4%.

Higher income taxes, yet they still couldn't reduce the record-breaking deficit? Maybe they should start playing the children's game SimCity to learn how to balance a budget and keep talent in our province.
NEW - Just four hours before TV leaders’ debate, @Dave_Eby has released costed platform.
Forecasts $13.7b deficit this year. Built largely on income tax increase, plus $680m in “targeted economic growth.”
Contains another $295m in spending promises yet to be announced.
Voters in Vancouver Point Grey may be looking for a new MLA after learning that David Eby, with a $600,000 family income, is using $10/day taxpayer-subsidized childcare while low-income families wait.
Conservative candidate Alex McMillan is a hard-working dad who paid for his own childcare.

Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?
Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, joy, and gratitude. May we cherish the blessings in our lives and the people around us! ❤️

It was wonderful to attend the opening ceremony of Rotary Peace Park last month! 🕊️
I know this project has been in the works for the past few years, and many dedicated Rotarians have worked incredibly hard to make this vision a reality.
I’m also glad to have supported this meaningful project by purchasing a commemorative brick for the park. They are still accepting donations to further expand the Peace Pole and commemorative brick area, so there are still opportunities to be part of this special community project!
A lasting symbol of peace, friendship, and community for generations to come.

Statement from Former Richmond Centre MLA Hon Chan
Last week, I announced that I was seriously considering seeking re-election. At the time, there was no other candidate in the race besides the NDP candidate. Since then, I have been ramping up campaign preparations, receiving tremendous support and even gathering enough signatures for my nomination with Elections BC.
However, my priority has always been to defeat the NDP. To do that, I believe we must unite the centre and the right. With that in mind, I have decided to step aside and will not be seeking re-election this term.
Serving the community has been part of my life since I was young, through volunteering, almost two decades in broadcasting, and ultimately as your MLA. That commitment has never changed.
I am proud of what we accomplished in just two years, from holding the government accountable to successfully pushing for funding for the much-needed Richmond City Centre elementary school, which was originally left out of Budget 2025.
Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey. This chapter may be ending, but my commitment to our community is not.
We might just see each other again next time.
Hon Chan
Former MLA for Richmond centre

Deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Tsawwassen today.
My heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and my thoughts are with all those affected.
Thank you to the first responders and emergency personnel for their service and support.

Attending the Truth and Reconciliation ceremony in Richmond. It was a rare and meaningful opportunity to hear directly from an Elder and listen as they shared their stories, experiences, and wisdom with our community.
Thank you for sharing these important stories with us as we continue to listen, learn, and reflect.

The NDP government cut $350,000 in funding to GAIA, an organization serving over 1,000 seniors in our communities, despite Premier David Eby promising continued support.
If the NDP can spend $101,000 in one month to keep an SRO operating for one tenant, why can’t it find $350,000 to support over 1,000 seniors?

While this election is wholly unnecessary and a waste of taxpayers’ money, Hon Chan is seriously considering seeking re-election.
He is currently ramping up campaign preparations as an independent candidate and will also be in discussions with other parties.
His goal is clear: to defeat the NDP and continue fighting for the people of Richmond.

An unnecessary snap election, two years early.
The NDP already has a majority government, yet they are sending British Columbians back to the polls more than two years early. Eby dodged the question when a reporter asked whether this was even ethical. It’s obvious that the NDP is prioritizing its own political interests instead of putting British Columbians first.
With a $13.3-billion deficit and another costly election, the NDP needs to go.

Welcoming the Métis Nation to Richmond again! It was great to have a meaningful conversation, hear their perspectives, and better understand the needs of their community.
Always important to listen, learn, and work together to build a stronger community.

🎾 3rd Metro Vancouver Tennis Carnival
It’s not often that work feels this much like fun! Tennis is a sport I’ve always loved and played, so it was great to join fellow players and enthusiasts at the 3rd Metro Vancouver Tennis Carnival.
Even better, the event raised funds for the Richmond Food Bank, bringing our community together through sport while giving back. ❤️
Thank you to the Metro Vancouver Tennis Community Society for another great event! 🎾

The NDP government can never seem to deliver better news for B.C.
Another blow to our fiscal situation and our economy. A blow to our health care and social services. Most importantly, a blow to our youth and future generations.
Does this government even understand that you need a strong economy and sound finances to support a functioning society?
You cannot just keep borrowing billions and expect everything to work. This is simply not sustainable.
