David Eby didn’t honour or value the majority mandate voters gave him less than 2 years ago. He could have been Premier until October 2028. He threw it away and played a cynical political game by calling this election. Frustrated voters in a bad economy called ‘bullshit’.
It is impressive how bad you are at understanding the basic elements of your job or the simple truths of the country you are privileged to live in @USAmbCanada

Thank you, British Columbia.
Tonight, you voted for change. You voted for a government that will listen, keep life affordable, and never take your hard-earned money for granted.
I want to thank every volunteer who knocked on doors, made calls, and put up signs in the rain. I want to thank our candidates, who stepped forward in a snap election with no time to spare. And I want to thank my wife Shelley and my family for standing beside me every step of the way.
To those who didn’t vote for us: I will work just as hard for you. This is your government too.
The work starts now. Let’s get to it.

The BC NDP is bigger than one person. It’s a team that believes that access to healthcare shouldn’t depend on your ability to pay; that kids should have quality education; that every worker deserves safe work and fair compensation; and that...

Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just “done a deal” with Hitler. George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.

Every loss of life is a tragedy. Canada has done so much to help us protect lives in Ukraine, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and all Canadians following the explosion and fire at the military base in Wainwright. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those lost, and we wish a swift recovery to the injured.
Hey @PeteHegseth - go to hell.

Hegseth on Afghanistan:
I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters.
It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there.
Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations.
In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Over 1100 non-American soldiers from 31 US-allied countries were killed fighting in Afghanistan, approximately 1/3 of the total combat deaths.

Once again turning the sacrifices of Canadian and other allied troops into a punchline.
The United States is the only country ever to have triggered Section 5 of the NATO Treaty, i.e. calling on allies for a joint military response to 9/11.
We were there. 1100 allied NATO troops made the supreme sacrifice, including 158 brave Canadians.
Shame on this man, and those who enable him, for repeatedly mocking their bravery.
