"The Grizzlies are replacing Ja Morant with Ty Jerome!" 😫
This is the biggest complaint we heard during the offseason
But Ty Jerome is quickly proving that he's the best shotmaker the Grizzlies have ever had.

Ty Jerome’s story isn’t about flash or fame. It’s about resilience 😤
After a series of devastating injuries: hip surgery in high school, groin surgery with the Thunder, and a season-ending ankle operation in 2024, Jerome was left searching for purpose while the game moved on without him…
But even at his lowest, he wasn’t alone.
Steph Curry, who mentored Jerome during their time together with the Warriors, became a lifeline.
Curry shared his personal support team and specialized support braces that he has worn for 10 years, checked in regularly, and offered more than just advice.
He offered belief 🙌
And it all paid off in his explosive Grizzlies season-opening debut yesterday:
🔸 45 points
🔸 17-25 FG
🔸 5-10 3PT
Jerome now holds the record for the most points scored by a Grizzlies player in a season opener, beating the previous record of 44 set by Ja Morant.
He fought his way back from the margins of the league, and in doing so, earned a place not just on the floor, but in the heart of Memphis’s new era.
And for that, he deserves maximum respect 🫡

The Washington Wizards have re-signed Anthony Gill to a one-year deal, league sources told @hoopshype. Gill has shot 54.5% from the field over the past six seasons with the Wizards and has been a beloved locker room presence. Gill now holds Washington’s 15th roster spot.

Ty Jerome getting the love he deserves in 2026 🥹
He’s BEEN had one of the most underrated and unique bags of any guard in the NBA
Though a small sample, Ty Jerome was extraordinary last season. By box plus-minus, Jerome had the 3rd highest offensive impact of any player, on a per-possession basis, behind only SGA and Jokic. Can Jerome produce near that level over a full season? The answer could determine Memphis' odds of making a sneaky run to the play-in, per @zachkram.
