FINALLY: After six years, we at the Chicago Tribune Guild have won our first contract. We are so proud of what we ratified today with near unanimous support: raises, bonuses, salary minimums, AI protections, seniority rights & more. How did we get this done? (1/7)

A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump’s claim about immigrants eating pets almost perfectly syncs up to the piano in the Peanuts theme song.

Casino replaces print journalism, let's see how this works for democracy

Tonight, the Freedom Center prints the Chicago Tribune for the last time. The plant prints almost every paper in Chicago — Sun Times, NYT & more. It’s closing to make way for a casino. Most workers opted to not move to the Trib’s new Schaumburg plant & will lose their jobs.🧵:

Chicago Tribune Guild members are on strike today to give our hedge fund overlords a taste of how we are unafraid of them. Alden pumps up obscene profits by squeezing employees. We break stories. Alden won’t break us. This is Chicago. We know how to fight. We won’t back down.
