This only confirms my theory that there was no hawks hawkeyes confusion at all — they just saw reference to a basketball game and googled the date
SCOOP: I've obtained the Smith team texts that were the basis for Schmitt’s questions.
The texts do not reference either the Hawks or Hawkeyes, raising more Qs about Schmitt’s inquiry.

80 year old shoots Hispanic window cleaner—he just asked for water.

But says gun went off "by accident."
Juan Hoffman is a 21 year old college student—he was selling window cleaning door to door to save money for school.
Patrick McBride is the homeowner—he first picked up the bullet shell casing and took the other man's phone before going back inside.
He didn't call 911—his wife finally did.
Now he has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and currently out on bond.
Incident occurred in a gated community on the north side of Scottsdale, Arizona.
