now obviously do not support or engage with this show when it releases, don't even pirate it if you claim to care about trans lives but also... jesus fuckin christ, that runtime. who the fuck wants to sit through a movie-size prologue that probably only gets as far as the train
The premiere episode of HBO's 'HARRY POTTER' series will reportedly be 2 hours, 5 minutes long and premieres on December 25, 2026.

It's weird how quickly "progressive" Americans adopt anti-migrant rhetoric the moment British food comes up. I can't believe the amount of them who've confidently told me that tikka masala "isn't really British" because it was invented by a Pakistani immigrant in Glasgow.

British food discourse is tired AF but it is VERY funny when Americans try to mock British Chinese food when it was created by generations of mainly Hong Kong immigrants adapting the cuisine to the British taste. It's arguably one of the biggest success stories in fusion food but it's not considered as such because it's British

People going to be weird about me saying I see using the R-slur as a red flag even among fellow NDs. I know some people don’t see nuance, but I will say, I have never seen it used affectionately or as a friendly term. I’ve only seen it used to imply being disabled -

I’m an English teacher but half my job is teaching Japanese people cultural things about other countries. Like yes we also have four seasons why do we have the names for them if not?
A Japanese guy asked me if people got hay fever in America, too, and I said yes. He then asked why. I was so dumbfounded I couldn’t answer. After a long silence and me staring in disbelief, someone said, “…they have trees and flowers in America, too.”

Also the r word isn’t about neurodivergent people. It was a diagnosis for people with intellectual disabilities, not neurodevelopmental disabilities so it isn’t even for autistic and ADHers to claim! It’s up to people with ID to reclaim and most of them don’t want to!
the word queer was reclaimed because the meaning changed from derogatory to explanatory. you guys are still using the r word as a substitute for stupid, thats not reclaiming

it’s interesting when I googled “why do Japanese people think Japan is the only country with four seasons” all the articles reinforce this concept that the seasons are distinct which makes it unique

but really japan’s autumn I think is nonexistent, I always talk about when I was a child, I have such vivid memories of autumn in the UK. In Japan, the leaves don’t change colour fully until November. maybe climate change will finally get rid of this 4-season myth
