What luck! My research group happened to be in Iceland during the Fagradalsfjall eruption. We were able to take a day at the end of our work to see it.
Oh, hi me! This is a project I helped out with for a post-bacc internship at @BerkeleyLab in 2019. Glad to have worked with such amazing people!
Berkeley Lab scientists have invented a new way to measure #carbon stored in the soil without digging it up—a vital tool for fighting #climatechange and developing more ecologically friendly forms of agriculture.

📢 Due to the strong response to the inaugural #FIHM22 abstract call, we are extending the abstract deadline to 9 February to ensure all community members can submit on time!
👉Submit your abstract today! ⏰ fal.cn/3lIyJ
Hi, are you interested in
🌠Streamflow Generation Processes in the Forested Tropics 🌠?
Me too. Please consider submitting an abstract to the Frontiers in Hydrology Meeting #FIHM22 hosted in San Juan, PR this summer. Abstracts are due January 26th!

Come to my talk about subsurface flow paths and C-Q relationships in the tropics tomorrow morning!
Replying to @Dr_Mark_Torres
On Thursday morning, @geologyoutside will share our work on the effects of climate and geology on water flow paths & transit times through the critical zone in Puerto Rico @luqczo. (bit.ly/3oL10L8) (6/7)
#agu21 H42D-03 - for those not attending AGU, just ask and I can send a video of my recorded talk

Anyone have thoughts/suggestions about standardizing stable carbon isotope measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon? Our actual carbonate standards are all solids. We've tried making a dissolved working standard with sodium bicarbonate, but are wondering about other approaches.
I finally got my undergrad thesis out into the world! REE patterns in natural waters from a basaltic island, explained:

Shameful, @UNC. Denying a tragic history won’t make it any less so. And grappling with it will help us challenge and change current pain and injustice. Thank you for your work, @nhannahjones. 19thnews.org/2021/05/unc-won…

In case you forgot that #AGU20 was still going on, check out my student Will Larsen's poster on the "age" of water in @luqczo rivers and what it means for chemical weathering. He'll be available "live" at his poster until 12 PST.

The live session for my poster at #AGU20 is happening for the next few hours! Stop by to chat about the age of water and solute content of streams at @luqczo agu.confex.com/agu/fm20/meet…
Constantly needing to remind myself that fresh andosols are not, in fact, decadent chocolate layer cakes
Been doing a lot of simulations recently. Tending to my virtual soil profiles feels a lot like FarmVille but I totally dig it
Pros of working in a highly trafficked area:
- Lots of parking near field sites
- Telling random passerby about this beautiful landscape
- Snazzy vests
