Palestinians are required to file for a permit from the IDF in order to harvest their own olives in their own olive groves. The same IDF turns a blind eye, and at times is complicit, with settler terrorists who burn down those groves. They have a permanent permit from the IDF.
Earlier today, a number of harvesters, accompanied by dozens of individuals, arrived to conduct an uncoordinated olive harvest in an area near Beitar Illit. Harvesting in this area requires a request to be submitted to the relevant authorities in advance of the start of the olive harvest season. This coordination is necessary to ensure the security of the area and maintain public order. Due to the security risk posed by conducting an uncoordinated harvest near an Israeli community, IDF soldiers, Border Police forces in Judea and Samaria, and officers from the Judea and Samaria District Police arrived at the scene and detained those present. The landowner was informed that he must coordinate the olive harvest on his plot of land and was provided with the relevant contact information to arrange a harvest at a later date. It should be emphasized that authorized olive harvests have taken place and continue to take place. To date, approximately 100 coordinated harvests have been conducted across Judea and Samaria, yielding many dozens of tons of produce, with security provided and coordination by the security forces, without any unusual incidents. In areas designated for coordinated harvesting, only harvesters will be permitted to enter, solely for the purpose of harvesting. As in previous years, security forces are working to facilitate a safe and orderly olive harvest season, with a firm commitment to enabling harvesting without unusual incidents or interruptions, alongside their ongoing defensive and counterterrorism missions.

This is how the IDF responded to an Israeli woman reporting an attack on Palestinians by settler terrorists in Wadi Rahim, the West Bank: first mocking her, then hanging up on her. Two days ago, when European diplomats were attacked near Taybeh, the IDF ignored activists’ reports altogether. In both cases, the IDF offered a bureaucratic excuse for failing to fulfil its direct responsibility. The military, however, hasn’t failed. In fact, it has been quite successful in carrying out its established policy. Every day, settler terrorists, funded by the state, injure people, slaughter animals, burn mosques and homes, uproot trees, and destroy property. They kill Palestinians and mostly get away with it. If, on the other hand, a Palestinian teenager throws a stone at the attackers, soldiers are authorised to use lethal force to “eliminate the threat.” Backing settler terrorists is the IDF’s policy.

CNN will never show you this : An Israeli settler pointing a gun at a Palestinian farmer. "This land is mine now. Get out. Never come back" The farmer's family worked that land for generations. The settler flew in from Eastern Europe.

Henry Kissinger died at one hundred years old. In his bed. After a life that included, by documented record: the secret bombing of Cambodia, the facilitation of the coup that brought Pinochet to power, the green light to Indonesia's invasion of East Timor, and the continuation of a war he privately knew was unwinnable because losing it before an election was politically inconvenient. He died at one hundred years old and was eulogized by heads of state. This is not an aberration. This is the terminal destination of a system that has no external enforcement mechanism for the people at the top. International law exists. It has courts. Those courts have, with some consistency, prosecuted African heads of state and Yugoslav military commanders and Rwandan génocidaires. They have not prosecuted an American. Not one. The law, like most things, is differently weighted depending on which direction you're looking from. Kissinger died at one hundred. In his bed. Understand what that means about where the consequences actually live.

What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention. So we're going on tour. All proceeds will benefit organizations supporting the Palestinian people and movement. Sign up at macklemore.com
