Popular reply so I'll boost. Job 1 of vaccines is to prevent serious illness/death. Covid vax do this very well (scientificamerican.com/artic…). Vax opp often cite infection data (not outcomes) to evoke FUD. Lower infections wld be great! But fewer in hospitals way better than more.

Scatter plot I'd like to find/make: normalized death rates vs. population density. Confirmed cases are extremely important but noisy for this question. #coronavirus

Shame on @GeneticsGSA for supporting this despicable letter. I hereby renounce my membership and urge all of my colleagues to do the same.
Proud to join 125+ other organizations to oppose a costly proposed Administration policy that would undermine scientific discovery, American jobs, & our global competitiveness. Read the coalition letter: presspage-production-content… @americanpublish @AmericanCancer @globalIPcenter

This is how it's done.
Leadership starts with our choices. That’s why I decided that no one on my staff will make less than $52k/year. It’s likely one of the highest entry-level salaries on the Hill. We pinch pennies elsewhere, but it’s worth every dime to pay a living wage. rollcall.com/news/congress/a…

Agreed.
The simplest, fastest way for funders to provide immediate free access to research they fund is to require deposition in preprint servers or platforms, and for journals, societies and other players to focus on peer review, assessment and curation. planu.org/ #PlanU
