A couple years ago I asked for dedicated bike signal here to protected against left turning drivers and was told the intersection didn’t “meet warrants”. I wonder if we’ve now paid enough blood sacrifice to meet warrants.

DIA has so much money to spend on frivolous things ie those light up signs, cost overruns & this nuclear exploration. Nukes are hella expensive, take longer to come online then wind/solar, leave radioactive legacy pollution, plus water consumption. 🔥🤑 Expand the train instead.
Is Mayor Johnston going to double down on the Broncos Bond tomorrow?
City Council will vote Monday to amend the Vibrant Denver Bond, but reports say the Mayor won’t budge on the two viaducts crossing Broncos property- a $140 million stadium handout.

Why does Mayor Johnston want to spend $89 million to replace a 1980’s viaduct that is structurally sound? Why has he refused to fund a single bike lane corridor in the Vibrant Denver bond?

.@ColoradoDOT’s GHG plan claims we don’t have to reduce VMT over the long run because we’ll all be driving EV’s. As federal EV tax credits disappear and Colorado tax credits are cut in half, is there a plan B? Can we start seriously investing in transit and VMT reduction?
Weather nerds, I've written a weather station app that displays live data from thousands of backcountry mountain sites. If you want to know if there was a hard freeze last night at the top of loveland pass, this is for you. Check it out- apps.apple.com/us/app/weathe…
Totally agree with the message of this @denverpost editorial calling to study alternatives to widening Pena but a few corrections:
-The A line is not shared with freight. RTD has exclusive use of the tracks.
- 30 minute freq is not just just in the early morning hours. (1/2)
Lastly, calling out Councilwoman Parady’s “crazy land” statement was a cheap shot and totally out of context. She was saying that not studying an A-line alternative would be crazy land, exactly what this editorial is arguing. (2/2)

Weird that our govt keeps spending billions to widen highways and then puts warning labels advising us not to drive? How about we just invest in transit instead so we don’t have to drive everywhere.

Is Johnson aware that DOTI is planning to remove a bus lane on 15th st, RTD’s most travelled corridor? Maybe she should speak up how that will affect on-time performance…
Trading sprawl out at the airport so we can preserve a golf course in the city seems like a terrible idea.

Denver Int Airport CEO claims the decision to expand Pena Blvd has not been predetermined, but all NEPA alternatives proposed by DEN call for adding lanes. They have steadfastly refused to study a multimodal alternative.

DEN has been proclaiming for the past year that they can’t fund transit because the FAA won’t let them. Now it turns out the FAA won’t back their highway expansion schemes. It’s been a farce all along.

Bookmarking this post so that when Colfax BRT is complete and businesses are booming, the neighborhood is basking and emergency response has private use of traffic-free lanes, we can all have a good laugh at this unhinged fear-mongering.
Denver FD chief claiming bike lanes are a big impediment to emergency response times-
“Protected bike lanes, in particular, can make it difficult for the department’s big trucks to navigate streets”
The dishonesty is astounding. Getting rid of bike lanes won’t fix this.
