In a dedicated movement shooter everyone in the lobby has "movement"; When everyone is flying nobody has an inherent advantage, & fights become exhausting mirror matches of tracking pixels. What these players really want is to be the only one moving at high speed. A Power fetish.
Played the new Warzone update, again.
Moving the right direction. This list doesn't include some of what I shared yesterday, which is still needing attention.
What I'm still noticing immediately:
▪️Missing plate should be more opaque, matching current warzone 7:48
▪️Random bouncing while ADS jumping is atrocious - 3:58
▪️Directional footstep audio make absolutely zero sense - 9:59
▪️Very hazy and light bloom is too high regardless of volumetric quality setting
▪️Visual fidelity seems to have gone down?
▪️Blue tint is too much
▪️Popup notification animations have too much glow
▪️Only one SMG feels usable, but you lose any gunfight against more than one enemy
▪️Gun shake is all over the place
What's seems better:
▪️Movement feels improved - more fluid, faster
▪️Plating animation activates slightly faster
▪️Deaths door overlay is noticeably better

Patch Notes for today’s Open Beta update are now available. The update rolls out at 10 AM PT.

I’m exhausted by the “it’s just a beta” narrative.
Yes, it is a beta. But they have less than 2 months for this to be in a position to not only match, but supposedly build on the Warzone we already have. The changes required are not small and simple.
My frustration comes from repeatedly starting at a worse spot year over year when a new developer steps in to take over the base integration.
I know that in 6-8 months we’re gonna love this game, but by that time, the player base will have already fallen off, and the opportunity for incredible moments simply will not be there.
The COD cycle cannot start at near zero anymore. It’s just not sustainable.
I’m appreciative that they’re putting in such quick and hard work, but we’re about to have 2 months where they can’t get anymore feedback and play testing at scale. Do we really think it’s going to supersede the current iteration before launch?
I love this game, I love RavenSoftware (and supporting studios), but I’m so tired of every new title coming with a punch in the gut and a constant feeling that it’s just going to further divide the player base, or shrink it entirely.
Every time it’s IW’s turn to take the helm of Warzone, they try to capture lightning in a bottle, but they do it at the cost of the identity that’s already been built.
I think by the time we hit the end of MW4s cycle, this is going to be the best iteration of Warzone, but getting there is the issue. The player base falloff is the issue. The constant forced division is the issue.
I’m excited to play something fresh and new, but I cannot pretend to love where we’re at right now.
Truly, I think the team is going to move mountains, but my faith is shaken in them due to the history we’ve lived through with Warzone.
I hope I’m wrong. I’d be so damn excited. 🤞
To the teams at @CallofDuty, I think there needs to be a ton of private (bi)weekly play testing on the new Warzone before launch. Feedback is key before official launch. I’d love to be involved, but I also understand if being this critical somehow disqualifies me.
Either way, I look forward to seeing swift changes, and I promise I will applaud as hard as I critique when I job is well done. 🤝
Played the new Warzone update. Better, but not good yet.
Thoughts currently:
▪️ I'm shooting more to kill an enemy than they are to kill me in 75% of fights
▪️ Often can't see the person I'm shooting - 4:40
▪️ Unresponsive with plating, reloading, and more inputs
▪️ Audio sounds incorrect in 90% scenarios
▪️ Health regen takes an INSANE amount of time - 13:07
▪️UI needs adjustment back to previous placements, and making text more bold
▪️Speed is neither here nor there until it doesn't feel like I'm being penalized for moving in the first place

Why is my @elgato game capture lagging in OBS?
I've dealt with this for years. It's infuriating and I just need help fixing it. I've changed nearly EVERY SINGLE SETTING.
🖥️ PC
• Threadripper 9970x
• 5090
• 256gb DDR5 ECC RAM
📹 Capture Card
• 4K60 Mk2
• Tried 4K Pro / 4K X
⬇️ More
I've tried to fix this on and off for literal years. I've changed numerous things, and nothing seems to solve it.
OBS is running in Admin, high priority, and I've even tried setting it to "Realtime" in the Task Manager.
I'm outputting my Gaming PC to my monitor via DP, but then use HDMI to clone to the capture card. This clearly isn't an issue as the video is showing up fine in the 4K Capture Utility.
I've tried using the 4K X and even the 4K Pro, but it just didn't fix the problem. Nor did completely resetting OBS.
Someone PLEASE HELP ME, I'm losing my damn mind.
Official @elgato response!!
Our software and OBS are nearly identical - He's talking more about a persistent frame-pacing-related micro-stutter that's been a thing for ages when using any capture card in OBS Studio.
The OBS team has been working on it though via an entirely new way of bringing video sources into OBS Studio using Media Foundation, together with Intel github.com/obsproject/obs-st…
