Democrats winning 55 or 56 Senate seats has big implications for John Fetterman. Fetterman may have been planning to act as kingmaker in a narrowly divided Senate, but now he's got zero leverage and will likely be primaried out of his seat in 2028.

Democrats will get into office and immediately start investigating Trump, his officials, and anyone else they can think of. There will be impeachments and at least a few Trump officials are probably going down. If they win in 2028 they will pursue federal cases against conservative politicians, activists, and public figures. People will go to jail. When they have power, they wield it. Republicans had the chance to root out Democrat corruption and they didn’t. They had the chance to systematically dismantle and destroy left wing radicals and their networks and funders, and they didn’t. Charlie’s murder should have led to a ruthless nationwide crackdown on left wing extremism, but it didn’t. Democrats will turn around and do all of the things the Republicans were too scared to do. If they win the presidency they’ll also nuke the filibuster without hesitation.
