“We own Greenland.”
And just like that, his cult of halfwits believe the US owns Greenland.

Trump and the GOP have been working hard to keep this video from being reposted on social media. Repost it, keep it alive. Too many people aren't paying attention to who Donald Trump is.
He's a liar, and by his own words, he must be held accountable.🤥

For two years you think he can’t get any worse, and for two years he has. The slide into even worse continues apace. He really is the very worst of humanity—no redeeming features whatsoever. Just hateful, evil belligerence that multiplies like bacteria.

Trump has decided to hold me—rather than Putin—responsible for all the problems. He claims to his supporters that diesel prices in America are rising because of us, — Zelenskyy.
I find it wrong and unacceptable that Trump blames me for Russian aggression and the crimes committed by Russia. He is distorting the context, and that is unfair. In my view, this is merely an attempt to divert attention from the situation in Iran and events in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is blocked—that is the true core of the problem. Yet, all of this is being pinned on us, and I, as head of state, am being made a target.

President Putin is a murderer.
His soldiers use rape as a weapon.
He has launched wars costing thousands of lives.
His agents have stolen children and destroyed families.
Russia today is what President Reagan correctly called it: the evil empire.

Bill Clinton: “I’m tired of the way we treat our allies like dirt. And just last week, President Trump finally did what he threatened to do when he first ran, which is to abandon Ukraine and embrace Vladimir Putin all over again.”
I hope the American people are also tired of it

BREAKING: PANIC! Trump is DESPERATELY trying to stop Jack Smith from testifying in his own $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC.
Donald Trump sued the BBC for defamation, asking for a whopping $10 billion in damages. Now, he’s panicking about the one witness who might actually know something about the behavior that led the British broadcaster to publish what it did.
According to The New Republic, the BBC subpoenaed former special counsel Jack Smith to testify as part of its defense against Trump’s defamation suit. The suit claims the network defamed him with deceptive editing in a 2024 documentary about the January 6 Capitol attack.
Trump’s lawyers filed a motion Friday to block the deposition, arguing that “Smith lacks any personal knowledge regarding the issues in this matter.”
Their reasoning: Smith wasn’t at the January 6 speech, didn’t help prepare it, and can’t know what Trump was thinking. They say anything he gathered was “secondhand knowledge” from materials collected from other sources.
The BBC’s lawyers weren’t impressed. They wrote that “none of [Trump]’s arguments for blocking the deposition of Mr. Smith can withstand scrutiny.” They noted that Smith himself doesn’t object to testifying, and that Trump still has to prove he “did not foment or incite the January 6 Capitol riot,” which he claims the documentary falsely implied.
Then came the line that says it all: “No one forced Plaintiff to file this lawsuit and to dispute that his speech on January 6 incited the violence that followed at the Capitol. But as long as he chooses to maintain the case, he cannot commit the fundamental injustice of preventing the BBC from obtaining the evidence it needs to robustly defend itself.”
This isn’t Trump’s only dodge. His attorneys are also fighting efforts to make Trump himself testify, to subpoena his children, and to look into his finances. Trump sued over what the BBC said about January 6, and now he’s fighting every attempt to examine what actually happened.
There’s another problem for him. The BBC is funded by British taxpayers, so Trump can’t bully it into a hefty settlement or force it to back off its coverage the way he has with some American media companies.
So now he has two choices: drop the case, or actually try to prove his point and live with the consequences.
If Trump really believes he did nothing wrong on January 6, a deposition should be no problem. His lawyers’ desperation suggests otherwise.
Please like and share if you can’t wait to hear what Jack Smith has to say if the BBC successfully gets him to testify!

Downing Street has delivered a rare public reprimand to a member of the Trump administration, former Fox News presenter Pete Hegseth, the US defence secretary, saying he was “wrong” to suggest that most non-American Nato soldiers in Afghanistan did not do any fighting.
Hegseth made the comment in a speech at the University of Tennessee, where he recalled serving in Afghanistan himself. He said:
"I was a captain in Afghanistan and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters. It was a beautiful thing to see, 50 different countries contributing to the Nato alliance and the Isaf [International Security Assistance Force] mission there.
Except there were maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that by the end were actually involved in kinetic operations."
Asked about Hegseth’s comment at the Downing Street lobby briefing, the PM’s spokesperson said Hegseth was “wrong” in what he said about the Nato operation in Afghanistan.
The spokesperson explained:
"The facts speak for themselves when it comes to the UK’s and Nato’s contribution to Afghanistan. Thousands of British and Allied families made huge sacrifices to play their significant part in that war and uphold our values, and more than 450 British personnel never returned.
Their sacrifice and that of other NATO forces was made in the service of collective security and in response to an attack on our ally. We are incredibly proud of our armed forces and their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and it is wrong to diminish their role."
While the UK a nd almost every othef government on earth disagrees with much of what Donald Trump and his team say and do, there is normally a reluctance to criticise them in public. This does not seem to apply when the reputation of British servicemen and women has been impugned.
Starmer tried hard to maintain a good personal relationship with the US president, but when Trump made a similar claim about Nato allies avoiding frontline fighting in Afghanistan, Starmer condemned what he said as “insulting and frankly appalling”.

I served two tours in Afghanistan alongside allied troops. We shared tents and flew missions in the same skies. Over 1,000 soldiers from partner nations died fighting with us there.
When our SecDef diminishes their sacrifice, he damages trust with allies we may need again.
Plus, he's the SecDef. He should be strengthening our alliances, not teaching ROTC cadets.
Hegseth on Afghanistan:
I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters.
It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there.
Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations.
In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Over 1100 non-American soldiers from 31 US-allied countries were killed fighting in Afghanistan, approximately 1/3 of the total combat deaths.

🔥 Max Hastings gives Trump both barrels and not before time.
Trump made 30,573 false or misleading claims during his first term. Now the lying, bullying and grotesque inversion of truth have become instruments of government, while billionaires and political courtiers compete for seats at his table.
The victims are the Ukrainian people being bombed, betrayed and blamed while Trump appeases Putin.
Hastings is right: democracies must stop treating industrial-scale dishonesty as background noise.
“This is a lie” must become our collective reply.
