Degeneracy we need to denormalize in the Black community (I will not be explaining further):
1. Depending on your village to raise your kids. You had those kids. Get help, but there is no way your village should be spending more quality time with your children than you do throughout their entire childhood.
2. Fathers moving out of town to become pen pals and part-time dads. Why are you moving out of town when you have a 1 y/o? We don’t call ppl out enough for this.
3. Opening businesses and expecting loyalty even when you fall short on quality. Yes, we need to support Black-owned businesses, but you also need to deliver Black excellent service.
4. Prioritizing wasting money on things that don’t matter. They literally pay these entertainers and influencers to promote poor spending habits. If you’re not seeking financial literacy, it’s time to start immediately. Budget. Save. Invest. Learn money management and teach it to your children.
5. READ. READ. READ. The phone isn’t going anywhere. Take some time out of your day to read. The Bible, a cookbook, a magazine, fiction, or non-fiction…it truly doesn’t matter. Reading is good for your brain, memory, vocabulary, knowledge, analytical thinking and the list goes on. It’s literally one of the most valuable investments you can make for free.

A 6-year-old girl was grabbed off her bicycle by a stranger and forced into a car in broad daylight.
But a neighbour witnessed the kidnapping and immediately jumped into his own vehicle to chase after them. He desperately tried to keep up, but suddenly lost sight of the car, with the little girl still trapped inside.
It happened in Louisville, Kentucky. Prentiss Weatherford was outside his home when he saw the man grab the little girl and speed away. Refusing to let her disappear, he jumped into his car and took off after the suspect.
As he followed the vehicle through the streets, Prentiss managed to identify it as a red Dodge Challenger and memorize the last three digits of its license plate. But when the car disappeared from sight, he spotted a police officer and quickly passed along everything he knew.
Police immediately began searching the surrounding neighbourhood, using the information Prentiss had given them. About 30 minutes after the kidnapping, officers spotted a vehicle matching his description.
When an officer opened the passenger door, he found the terrified little girl crying for her daddy. He immediately lifted her into his arms and carried her to safety.
The suspect was arrested, and the little girl was reunited with her family, unharmed.
Sometimes, saving a life starts with simply refusing to look the other way. Thank God Prentiss was there when this little girl needed him most.
