Releasing sea mines, drones and USV is easy too… @DitjenPajakRI @beacukaiRI do your job, start collecting tax from that strait. It’s time to show your strait controlling capabilities @_TNIAL_
People ask: Indonesia borders the Strait of Malacca, so why hasn't it just out-built Singapore to capture all that port wealth? Because building concrete docks is easy. Winning the multi-billion-dollar maritime ecosystem is brutal. Let's talk logistics reality πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

Waiting for the Chinese social media to erupt over this Musk statement that seriously hurt the feeling of the 1.4 billion Chinese people, whose main form of entertainment these days consists of endless TV war dramas about crimes committed by Japanese soldiers. If Musk's Tesla factory gets cancelled because of this, that would be too funny.
Cannot stress enough that this man is fundamentally stupid

Singapore isn't rich because it collects "tolls" in the Strait of Malacca. Singapore is rich because it built a world-class logistics engine while others relied on geography alone. Claiming Singapore "steals" Indonesia’s maritime wealth is a lazy myth. Let’s break it down πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡
I have a question for Indonesians: Indonesia clearly occupies one side of the Strait of Malacca, so why has Singapore monopolized the benefits of the Strait of Malacca, making itself a wealthy country through what is essentially collecting tolls, while Indonesia doesn't earn a single cent from it and remains a poor country today? This is obviously the greatest injustice in Southeast Asian geopolitics! If I were the president of Indonesia, I would demand that Singapore share 50% of the port profits. I don't think there is anything unreasonable about this proposal from Indonesia's perspective. I believe this is the core contradiction that will lead to conflict between Indonesia and Singapore in the future. In fact, a senior Indonesian official said not long ago that Indonesia should charge fees for the Strait of Malacca β€” that was a trial balloon pointing in this direction. In the long run, Indonesia will not give up such demands. The relationship between Indonesia and Singapore is essentially similar to the relationship between Iraq and Kuwait before 1990. At that time, Iraq believed that it, as a major country, was getting too little from the Middle East's oil benefits, while Kuwait refused to share its oil benefits, which ultimately led to war.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Singapore does not charge tolls for ships merely transiting the Strait of Malacca. Singapore's port revenue is from voluntary services; UNCLOS prohibits transit fees by the littoral states, and Indonesia has confirmed it will not impose any. mpa.gov.sg/media-centre/d… scmp.com/news/asia/sout… malaymail.com/news/what-you-…

Why do hyper-nationalist accounts like @BeijingDai wish ill on Singapore? Because in a zero-sim imperial mindset, sovereign neutrality is an insult. When a small nation thrives without bowing to great-power orbits, it shatters their dogma. Let's talk reality πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

There have been a lot of conflicts between Indonesia and Singapore recently. I have a feeling that the country Singapore truly fears is not the US, China, or Malaysia, but Indonesia. The Americans already have bases in Singapore and control SG's policy, they don't need to want more; Malaysia was the one that kicked Singapore out decades ago and won't want it back; China currently also has no intention of annexing Singapore (Although I disagree). Indonesia actually is the coutry that might one day seize this small island nation overnight. Indonesia's current president is a strong nationalist. He's made a mess of domestic governance, so he's bound to take a hard line abroad to divert attention from his failures at home. Earlier, Indonesia took a tough stance on the nickel ore issue with China and clearly got nothing out of it. Now he's found the perfect target: Singapore. Considering the role this Indonesian president played in the anti-Chinese atrocities in Indonesia in the past, Singapore has every reason to lose sleep. As for China, we'll just stay neutral, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show. I've always said Singapore is a bitch, and a bitch like that needs someone to put her in her place. When faced with a survival crisis, I bet Singaporeans won't be putting on airs and acting like they're superior anymore.

Bullying independent small states exposes deep insecurity. It’s the roar of a spectator wishing for violence because peaceful success shatters their dogma. Sovereignty isn't granted by regional bullies; it’s forged through unyielding competence.

Why do online nationalists demand that small nations pick a master and bow? Is strategic neutrality a threat to regional stability, or is it just the ultimate proof that small states can win on merit? What’s your take? πŸ‘‡

The good news? Indonesia is changing the game. Pelindo's port consolidations and major developments in Batam prove Jakarta is closing the gap. Real competition is built on infrastructure reforms and efficiencyβ€”not by demanding a cut of your neighbor's success.

Stop pretending economic dominance is a zero-sum theft. Is Indonesia's port lag caused by "unjust geopolitics"β€”or by the grueling, unglamorous work required to build a world-class logistics state? What’s your take? πŸ‘‡
