these past few days have shown how volatile having a career online is. a platform you built over countless years can disappear overnight. but it's also easily avoidable by you know... not being a shitty person in secret

kind of a mini rant but i wanted to address why i've been so inactive recently. maybe some of you can relate as well. if you don't want to read a wall of text, the main takeaway is that i don't have as much free time as i used to. for those of you still in college or even school, enjoy your freedom while it lasts because i definitely took it for granted i currently work an 8-5 job that switched to in person recently. but it's usually more like a 6:30-6 because of how early i need to get up + the commute. once i get home from work, settle down, and eat dinner, it's around 7:30. i usually try to get off at 10:30 or 11 at the latest so i can get enough sleep. that means i only have 3 hours to talk to my friends, destress, play games, watch things, and of course work on textures. it's become very exhausting and demotivating for me to work on things on weekdays. sometimes it feels like work after work. and then on weekends i don't want to do anything work related, i just want to enjoy the time i have off despite how i feel, i am still slowly chipping away at what i need to finish for hoplite and my personal projects. i am still aiming to get something released soon but some days when i get home i feel so drained and uninterested in doing anything. the goal of this tweet isn't to complain or vent because i do enjoy my job and i am grateful to have it, but it comes at the cost of having less time outside of work. i hope you guys can understand, i truly appreciate it if you've made it this far into the tweet :) okay i am done yapping
