Took a sneak peek at our new optics bay, looks like the first rack to hold all the equipment is almost ready to go up @andreastoellner @swaitukaitis

Started packing the first box for moving our lab to the new lab building @ISTAustria... Only another 60ish to go 😅 Still plenty of time to get some results before we need to pack up the experiments @andreastoellner @swaitukaitis

Created a bot to post images from the experiment so we can all see if there is a particle still trapped @swaitukaitis @andreastoellner Now I can watch the experiment while on holiday😁

Oops, I think it's broken already (or the particle was lost)... Should have brought my laptop to make changes

Experiment update: Everything has now been delivered for the experiment and I've started assembling things!😁Looking to submit an abstract to a conference with this photo of our sample chamber... still a work in progress

One month status update: I've turned my table into a jungle of cables, but we've achieved levitation (just not the optical kind... yet)

Dust particles from the windowsill held in our paperclip Paul trap (testing out the 10kV amplifier while we wait for other components to arrive)

A nice empty optical table, a perfect place to build a new optical tweezers experiment to explore Tribocharging with the @swaitukaitis group! Excited to start unpacking all the new toys 😁

Very nice work on the application of machine learning to optical trapping by Lachlan Hamilton, Lauren McQueen, Oscar Smee, Timo Nieminen, @halina_physics, @ilent2 @SPIEevents @ETAIconference #ETAI2020 #SPIEOpticsPhotonics spiedigitallibrary.org/confe…

My talk for @SPIEevents #SPIEOpticsPhotonics with @halina_physics & @VolpeResearch describing how we use machine learning to speed up optical tweezers simulations is online/available on-demand part of the (free!) online digital forum. spiedigitallibrary.org/confe…
Taking a break today, so I thought I would learn how to convert speech to text (and text to Semaphores) in Python github.com/ilent2/speech_to_… Almost ready for my production of Wuthering Heights brought to you by the International Guide to Semaphore Code😛

Less than a year until I should submit my PhD thesis, time to procrastinate... Had a go at putting together a CV website isaac.isuniversal.com/ and finally learnt how HTML flex layouts work so it should hopefully display nicely on mobile and larger screens

Learning about the Great Barrier Reef with @reefteach. It was a really interesting talk, I now know a little bit more about what to look out for while diving tomorrow

I'm finally finished with my article: An Interactive Introduction to Fourier Transforms! ⭐️ jezzamon.com/fourier ⭐️ Want to learn about practical uses of Fourier transforms? ✅ How about pointless but cool uses of Fourier transforms? ✅
