ALT Poem: the venal predator A venal person does not snivel to extract their value from you, they have better tools than that. A gullible person succumbs to guilt, to assuage the guilt of the lies a gaslighter bestows on them. The impudences, the gall, are myriad, they'll work on you if you let them, when you lose your sense of self. I figure you to remember that ~ when the guilt someone offers you is not of your own construction. … on a tan hatched background; to the right a scene from the movie ‘Gaslight’ where Ingrid Bergman stares up at a flickering gas lamp questioning her sanity. ALT Poem: Hearing Hear me please without interruption ~ and I did. I remember the stillness of listening intentional listening as heartbeats ticked and time stretched and the confession spilled and tumbled and found a space in me, a quiet pool. Then, in the quiet retelling of the mind unexpectedly, unintentionally an unsought connection was forged and the inklings of a redemption, of atonement, became a possibility. . … on a quiet grey background… Artwork for contemplation only; a low-res copy of the original, unsuitable for commercial use, ©owner Words & image ©ilinkcs (2026/10)
