Today marks an important milestone for Imaxeuno.
What started as a childhood dream for our founder @ifeditronics and grew into the passion for building embedded systems and hardware solutions is now officially a registered company.
This is just the starting line.
There's still a lot to build, a whole lot to learn and improve on, but having this makes the journey even more real, tangible and something to look back on as progress.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the vision so far.
Thank you to @iDICEStartup
@iDICE_Nigeria for the mentorship and support we are receiving through the founders lab program.
On to the next milestone.

As this year's IEEE SSCS Arduino Contest becomes a wrap, I am delighted to share that I'll was a part of it.
I was a volunteer ambassador, mentor and Judge.
It was sincerely a privilege working with such a global amd wide team.
It was also very relaxing of me watching people's project and ranking it based on how good it was.
I enjoyed every part of this job. And you'd see do this again in 2027.
Thank you @SSCSociety
And thank you to the participants...in one way, I'm part of your story ❤️

I started building a smartwatch for a client… then I had a crazy thought: What if I made my own and gifted them to my friends this Christmas?
And just like that, a client project turned into something more.
Here’s how the build is going so far!
This is still just a prototype. Next up: a proper PCB design and a custom casing.
And guess what? You could be getting one too. 👀🎄
Want me to gift you one when it’s ready, or would you like to buy one? Follow me and reach out to join the waitlist. My contact link is in my bio.
Follow along as I bring this idea to life before Christmas. We’re just getting started!

My smartvwatch prototype.
I don't know why but the display is giving me tough time
Id just have to take some steps backwards.
For the video, I decided to replace that battery with a smaller one. You know the disadvantage of that...I only had to do it because of the physical size.

I just completed my Smart IV (drip) Monitor project. 💧
This project has been a really interesting combination of embedded systems, signal processing, BLE, and mobile development.
The system uses an ESP32 to monitor an IV drip in real time, detect individual drops, calculate the drip rate (DPM), and display the information on a TFT screen.
I also built a Flutter mobile app that communicates with the monitor over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), allowing the drip information to be viewed remotely and the counter to be reset from the app.
The system also includes audible alerts for important events, including when dripping starts, when the system determines that the IV has finished, and when the counter is reset.
One of the biggest lessons from this project was that the algorithm isn't always the limiting factor.
The IR sensor itself introduces noise and variability, which means there is a practical limit to how accurate the detection can be with a single sensor. Getting truly reliable measurements would require improving the sensing approach, potentially with multiple IR sensors or a more precise sensing method.
For now, though, I'm happy to have taken it from:
Sensor → Embedded detection → TFT → BLE telemetry → Flutter app
and gotten the entire system working end-to-end.
Another hard-tech project completed. 🔧
Another client made happy.

I used to think being a good engineer meant knowing how to build almost anything.
I'm slowly realizing I was wrong.
When I started building electronics, every problem looked like an opportunity.
I remember when I'd just go to AliExpress and browse through the latest components in town.
Then I'd be like...
"What can I build with this?" 😂
And honestly, that mindset helped me learn.
This practice is actually very good, especially when you're trying to improve your skills.
But after working on more projects, I've started noticing something...
Sometimes, the smartest engineering decision is to NOT build.
Especially in hardware.
Because every unnecessary feature you add could be another component, another connection, surely another line of code, most probably another failure point, and eventually another thing to debug PATIENTLY.
And as we all know...
Hardware na money matter. 😭
I've had ideas that sounded great in my head but became completely different once I started thinking about the actual user, cost, reliability, and how the thing would work outside my workbench.
That's when I started understanding something:
Being able to build something doesn't mean it needs to exist.
And I think this is one of the biggest transitions from being someone who can build things to actually thinking like an engineer.
And don't get me wrong...
I still do this.
I still see a component and think, "What can I build with this?"
That's part of how I improve my skills.
I'm talking about builders who are building with commercialization in mind.
When you're building for a real user or a real market, you have to think differently.
You can't just ask:
"Can I build it?"
You also have to ask:
"Should I build it?"
I share my client builds, personal projects, experiments, and some of the things I've learned working with electronics and embedded systems.
Sometimes I'm building for a client.
Sometimes I'm learning.
Sometimes I'm exploring an idea just because I want to see if it'll work. 😂
Either way, if you're into electronics, embedded systems and HardTech, follow me. We're building here. 🔧

I've just finished working on a Smart Medication Reminder System for a client, and this one has been a really interesting build.
The goal was simple...
Help users remember when to take their medication and how much to take.
But underneath that simple idea is a pretty interesting combination of hardware, firmware, BLE communication, and mobile development.
The device is built around an ESP32-C6 and features:
⏰ A real-time clock for medication scheduling
💊 Configurable medication time and dosage
🔊 A continuous alarm when it's time for medication
🌙 A built-in night light
📺 A 128×128 TFT display
🔘 Physical buttons for interacting with the device
📡 Bluetooth Low Energy for communication with the phone
And then there's the Flutter companion app 📱
The app allows the user to:
• Configure medication schedules
• Set dosage and AM/PM
• Connect to the device over BLE
• Synchronize the device's clock with the phone
• Manage device settings
I avoided usibt an rtc module. Once the phone synchronizes the time through BLE, the device can continue keeping time independently. Not sp good because it has to resync anytime I turn it on but it achieves what it was meant for.
I've also had to pay attention to the tiny details...
Button debounce so one press doesn't become two.
Flicker-free TFT updates.
A blinking clock colon without refreshing the entire screen.
A small animated hourglass for a bit of life on the standby screen.
And a mobile interface that actually feels like it belongs to a healthcare product.
It's funny how something that sounds as simple as "remind someone to take their medication" can turn into an entire embedded system.

The amount of rejection emails I've gotten just this week, starting from Sunday, is mind-blowing and mentally straining. 😵💫
I don't know...
Sometimes I just feel like being a Nigerian is a whole lot of disadvantage.
And then I'm doing hardware too...
Omo, e choke.
Unfortunately, I'm not anything close to being a Nepo baby, so when it comes to developing my skills, I've been bootstrapping almost everything from my own pocket.
Sometimes I just wish...
Omo, if I had the same privilege as this guy, I for don achieve some of my dreams.
It's just the reality sometimes.
Let me give you one example.
I got rejected from the Altium Global Scholarship in this current selection.
I genuinely need to improve my skills, and there's almost nowhere I can get that kind of training locally and almost affordably 😭
I want to venture into high-speed electronics, but the courses, tools, training and resources required are usually very, very expensive.
They say nobody works harder than the person who hates asking people for anything.
Hardware is already hard enough.
Omo. 😭
I want to venture into high-speed electronics and explore things that are way beyond what I'm currently capable of.
So I'm actively searching for opportunities (scholarships and sponsorships), from inside or outside Nigeria, that can help me make that transition.
Sometimes, all you need is just one opportunity.

Can someone tell me why an engineer can build a perfectly working product and still fail?
It's because engineering a product and building a product are not the same thing.
Let me explain.
Imagine I build a device.
Everything works exactly as I designed it.
But then I discover that the device costs ₦150,000 to build, while the people I designed it for can only afford ₦30,000.
Did I build a bad device?
Technically, maybe not.
But did I build a good product?
No.
This is where product thinking comes in.
As engineers, we naturally think about:
"How do I make this work?"
Product thinking adds another layer:
"How do I make this work for the person who needs it?"
That means thinking about things like:
Cost.
User experience.
Reliability.
Manufacturing.
Maintenance.
Availability of components.
Scalability.
And most importantly...
What value does this actually provide?
This is why I believe engineers should learn product thinking.
Because the goal isn't just to build something that works on your workbench.
The goal is to build something that can survive outside your workbench.
And that's a completely different challenge.
What other things do you think engineers should consider when turning a prototype into a real product?

Finally helped these children submit their IEEE Arduino Contest project. They went through hell. 🫠
This was their first practical STEM engagement... I'm bringing #SDG4 and #SDG9 to life.
I think there should be more things like this going on in Nigeria.
Their project wasn't perfect, but they got the experience. And now, they were able to be more prepared than before.
For real, it gave up on them, but they forced me to believe in them. Fortunately for them, we got the news that the initial deadline was extended.
I love their resilience. ❤️
Somehow, I just wish I could have what I need to reach some of these kids... The future of Nigeria is with them, and STEM is a pathway to quality education.
Let's push STEM.
Let's get to quality education.
Let's support innovation.
Let's impact Nigeria.
I might not have everything it takes, but with what I have, I can help move this forward practically, with or without profit.
Our knowledge mustn't die with us.
Mastery is gained when you give out knowledge.
Let's push STEM education. Let's impact Nigeria.

My hardware people, come and win ₦10M with another project. 😂
All this money matter we’ve been talking about since...
Now is the time oo. Go guide for yourself. 👀
Founders Smith, a company based here in Enugu, where I’m based, is hosting this opportunity.
Finally, someone locally is giving attention to we hardware guys. 😭
I personally wouldn’t be able to compete in this one, but some of my mentees and other people I’m currently working with would...
So I’d be the power behind a few groups. 😎
Sha, the major reason is that I’m literally choked up with something similar till the end of the year, so I can’t take on another competition for now.
Plus, my NYSC process would be starting soon...
BUT I’m still SUPER ACTIVE when it comes to client deals, engineering projects, and helping people bring their ideas to life.
And honestly, I really like opportunities like this.
One interesting thing I noticed is that there’s NO AGE LIMIT.
Competitions like the Robo Marathon foster passion.
They give you a reason to build, test, break things, improve, and keep going until you actually get good at what you do.
That’s how mastery happens.
Test your knowledge. Thats what one of my mentors told me sometime last year and I'm telling you today.
There’s a ₦10 million prize pool, exposure to industry leaders, and an opportunity to put your work in front of a wider innovation ecosystem.
So if you’re into robotics, hardware, or building things...
Don’t sleep on this one.
Applications close 31 August 2026.
Check the link or contact the organisers for more details:

And if you want me to keep sharing opportunities like this...
Comment HARDTECH and follow me.
I dey aktivv. 😂
Also, save this post so you can easily find the link whenever you’re ready.
And when you share this post...
You already know what happens. 👽

One question I ask before building any hardware product:
"Does this problem really exist?"
Although I'm using hardware examples, this same thinking applies to software products too.
A lot of engineers fall in love with their solution.
I try to fall in love with the problem instead.
Here's how I validate hardware ideas before spending money on components.
1. Find the real problem.
Not the one I think exists.
The one users actually complain about.
If people aren't feeling the pain, they won't pay for the solution.
2. Talk to potential users.
Before I touch KiCad, Altium, or even a breadboard, I ask questions.
How are they solving the problem today?
What's frustrating about the current solution?
What would they change?
3. Build the simplest proof of concept.
Not a polished product.
Just enough to answer one question:
"Can this actually work?"
4. Get feedback early.
The first version isn't meant to impress people.
It's meant to teach me what I got wrong.
Because trust me...
Users will always use your product in ways you never imagined.
5. Improve. Repeat.
Only after I'm confident the idea solves a real problem do I invest more time and money into PCB design, enclosures, and production-ready hardware.
One thing hardware has taught me is this:
Components are expensive.
A bad assumption is even more expensive.
That's why I validate the problem before I build the solution.
How do you validate your ideas before committing time and money to them?
I'd love to hear your approach.
