Woke up this morning feeling very blessed to be disabled - I reckon my parents are pretty happy about it too.
Feeling sorry for us and our families doesn’t help. Treating us equally, and giving us the choice and control over our own lives does
Ohh I appreciate this and thank you! AND I want to let the world know that I learnt the term 'neurokin' from @ReframingAutism and their fabulous writing and work.
Replying to @SpectrumSurgeon
I learned the term “neurokin” and 5000000000 other epic concepts from Kristy Forbes (@IntunePathways )
I've returned. I still don't get it. As per my last crack at Twitter, if you message me, mention me or anything of the sort, I probably won't know. I also probably won't respond. Sorry in advance. 😆

‘We’ve Got This: Stories by Disabled Parents’ is an anthology edited by Eliza Hull. It includes so many incredible stories written by disabled parents. I just finished reading Kristy Forbes’ chapter on neurodivergent parenting 🤩 @IntunePathways @MusicElizaHull @BlackIncBooks
This is such an incredible honour. Thank you <3
A lovely nomination for Kristy Forbes from @inTunePathways in the #EducationProvider category

"She has done so much to help increase awareness and understanding of PDA and challenge those who seek to minimise this distinct profile as "Behavioural issues". She has been a lifeline for us when trying to find someone who not only relates to our family dynamic but can guide us through the difficult times."

1/2 As an #ActuallyAutistic PDAer, I wish parents of PDA children would understand that hyper independence is an ableist capitalistic norm. Teaching a child to ignore their limits, bc u fear their adult dependency = much more detrimental to them than letting go of NT expectations

Yes. We urgently need better support for autistic people.
You know what doesn't do any of that?
Trying to subgroup autistic people. Subgrouping dehumanizes us. It makes other people treat us like a series of traits and deficits rather than as whole human beings.
New research using Coroners' records found 10% of those who died by suicide had evidence of elevated autistic traits, indicating likely undiagnosed autism. This is 11 times higher than the rate of autism. We urgently need better autism support services cam.ac.uk/research/news/stud…

These relentless hit jobs on @tamepunk are utterly deplorable.
They’re designed to say to any woman striving for change: step out of line/question the status quo & we’re coming for you.
What a good time to make a donation to the Grace Tame Foundation.
