There seems to be a direct correlation between how badly Trump is doing and how often he abuses a reporter (invariably a woman) for asking a perfectly legitimate question. And it feels he’s losing his shit more and more often, which suggests things are getting worse and worse
🚨NEW: Donald Trump lashes out at NBC reporter: Q: Do the sexual allegations mean nothing to you? Trump: “QUIET! Isn’t she a fresh person? You’re a horrible little reporter.” (The reporter who press Trump on the sexual allegations was @albamonica)

I wrote about a topic that does not get enough attention: AI industry has made choices about technology, product architecture, and capital expenditures that likely make financial success impossible. Continuing on current path risks the whole economy. thenerve.news/p/roger-mcname…

Wake up!!! @azeem is calling all these hacks “AI’s Wuhan moment”. Marc Benioff called it a code red. And it is clear it is all going to get worse. Yet the AI companies insist on shipping obviously dangerous products. Meanwhile the U.S. government lacks the will and/or competence to do anything about it. We are on an express train to hell. Tell your congress people to temporarily ban AI agents, or brace for impact.

Here is George Clooney’s response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite." "Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years. So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable. People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble? He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people! When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction. He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!" - George Clooney actor, philanthropist, humanitarian & activist

Brexit voter in Makerfield tells Beth Rigby, "Everything seemed better when we were in the European Union. Boris Johnson just convinced everyone that we would be so much better off, didn't he" Another says he didn't make the right choice to vote for Brexit because Brexit ended, "The freedom of movement, the freedom of travel" My view: Johnson helped sell Brexit as a painless route to prosperity, then chose a version that put new barriers between British firms and their biggest nearby market. When the trade-offs became unavoidable, he blamed others rather than own the consequences. Farage helped turn grievance into a political movement, but campaigning for a rupture is easier than taking responsibility for its aftermath. He could claim victory, leave others to manage the fallout and return whenever there was another grievance to exploit. That is the populist trick: make a complicated choice sound effortless, dismiss anyone describing the costs as an enemy, then blame someone else when those costs arrive. The people who believed the promises deserve honesty now. The politicians who made them owe the country an accounting. And if Brexit voters in Makerfield have changed their minds, they are far from alone. YouGov’s latest polling found 59% support for rejoining the EU, against 32% opposed. With Britain needing stronger growth and more opportunities, the case for restoring closer ties—and the freedom to live, work and study across Europe—is stronger than ever. #RejoinEU

Donald Trump sued the BBC for $10bn. Now a US judge has ordered him to sit for a videotaped deposition under oath by 11 December or risk sanctions potentially including dismissal of his own case. That is the thing about suing people. You don’t just get to make the accusation. You also have to answer questions. Under oath.

The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

“We invested in them. That’s different from backing them” why is there never anyone who asks “what the hell are you talking about?”
CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, on the business model of neoclouds and the possibility of bailing them out: "Number one, we invested in them. That's different than backing them. We invested in them because we think it's a good investment. I can prove it. The reason for that is because all of the neoclouds, their demands are incredible. The demand of their compute is incredible. They have contracts from large companies, small companies. They are completely sold out." "Needing to secure more land, power, shell. Needing to secure more compute, which is therefore, needing more capital, more working capital.' "They need working capital. Because the demand for capital is so high, interest rates are starting to go up. Remember, it is because demand for capital is so high. Why is demand for capital so high? Because the demand for AI is so high. That's what's driving it." "Everything else will get solved when demand is high." Via @BloombergTV $NVDA $IREN $NBIS $CRWV

The more I look back at 🇬🇧 history, the more it seems political tribalism helped create the tragedy. Public ownership became left wing so it had to be dismantled. Unions became the enemy so they had to be broken. State investment became socialism, so assets had to be sold. Europe became foreign control, so leaving became an article of faith. Once economic policy becomes tribal identity, evidence stops mattering. And decades later we are left asking why Britain sold strategic assets, lost productive capacity, hollowed out communities and became dependent on other countries for things we once produced ourselves. Policy should be judged by whether it works not by which political tribe first proposed it.
Here is why population size misses the point. Norway’s fund is now worth about NOK 22 trillion. By mid-2026 only around NOK 5.5 trillion of that represented net money paid in by the state. Around NOK 15.2 trillion came from investment returns. That is what happens when you convert a finite natural-resource windfall into a permanent national asset. It compounds. It keeps earning. It can support generations who were not even alive when the oil was extracted. A fund does not become worthless because your population is larger. The question is whether Britain could have built a sovereign asset worth hundreds of billions potentially far more over decades instead of consuming almost all the windfall as it arrived. Norway proves the principle. Oil runs out. Capital does not have to. 🔥 And Britain was told privatisation would liberate us from the state. Instead, in parts of our infrastructure, we ended up swapping our state ownership for somebody else’s 👇👇👇

Given Trump’s latest tilt to supporting Russian dictator Putin in his failing war of aggression against Ukraine, we Europeans must step up to the plate. UK, France and Germany can’t allow Moscow to prevail. It would be the death knell of our peace and security for a generation.
