You can now file consumer case at the place of residence. As per the amendment under CPA 2019, a complaint shall be instituted in a District and State Commission within the local limits of whose jurisdiction the complainant resides or personally works for gain.
UPI payment is very convenient. However, beware of making UPI / phone payments to strangers especially for transactions on social media channels. Such payments should preferably be made by way of transfer to bank accounts where beneficiary can be easily tracked
Many e-commerce portals are not displaying Grievance Officer's email address and contact details. Many of them are not even displaying email address for submitting written complaints. This should be looked into.
Beware of shopping on zopnow.in Many customers have lost money while placing orders with this portal. They are not responding to complaints.
The Consumer Protection Act 2019 made effective from 20-7-20 as per GOI gazette notfn. The new Act has more teeth to it & consumers shd take advantage of the same to redress their grievances. indiaconsumerforum.org/consu…

Beware of buying from sellers over instagram / Whatsap / Telegram channel. Making payments through cards / bank account allow you to track beneficiary easier than wallet payments.

Beware of free form filling job offers. They make you sign Agreement, give you form filling job with a target and promise payment. Once you submit work they block your ID and demand money for activation. They will threaten with legal action if you don't pay.
