‼️At a time of rising populism and isolationist politics, it is becoming ever more difficult for European politicians to justify more expenditure on supporting Ukraine, albeit for correct reasons.
Europeans are sacrificing a lot of wealth to rightly support Ukraine at her time of need.
Which makes the paradoxical position of turning a blind eye to alumina exports more and more untenable as it directly undermines the very support we provide Ukraine at great domestic difficulty, let alone the security risks for the likes of the Baltic states.
Europe needs to ban the export of all war material including alumina and nickel now!

One of Energia’s production buildings in Yelets is now assessed as unable to operate. A major fire left heavy smoke and extensive damage to the facade and interior on every floor. The damage reaches through the whole building from the point of impact.
The plant was hit in the missile strike on Yelets reported earlier. Energia makes batteries and power units for Russia’s military-industrial sector, including equipment used in missile systems and aircraft.

This is enough to smelt a quarter of a million tonnes of aluminium - the foundational metal of war.
