Friends, I regret to say that my bid for re-election to the Supreme Court of Texas has come up short. I and my judicial colleagues could not overcome the party-line voting in our largest counties. I congratulate the incoming justices and wish them well. Serving you as a Texas judge for the past 14 years has been an honor and a joy.
