Went long on the new DIIV singles and why I think their new album is (partly) an elaborate bit. Also reviewed new ones from Fine, Bassvictim, A Country Western, and Interlay.
No Q&A this week but more criticism than usual. Tap in or...you know the rest.

Chicago DIY band Interlay push against shoegaze detachment on ‘snow covers your insides,’ their third EP, bringing reverb, hyper-kinetic drums and femme-led anger together across four uncompromising songs. zurl.co/dlF9W

ALT black woman holding up sign saying “no iraqis left me on a roof to die”
Last image of a wife and husband in Asheville, NC sheltering from the flood on a roof.
The roof would soon collapse, causing them and their 6 year old grandchild to drown.
Their daughter and mother of the child took the photograph.
When the roof collapsed, she got wedged between debris and was able to be rescued an hour later.
And things are way way worse in Burnsville. These pictures need to reach people.

Great playlist this week, including @en_MASSEband, @jim_legxacy, @zachbryanL, @newagethief, @Tinashe, @mutedcolorband, @interlay_, @sammykaynj, @Abeltheband_, @commonsage_, and a ton more. Where else will you get this kind of variety? (Don’t answer that)
