🧐 Do companies that use these devices actually care about their level of cybersecurity? 🧐
I thought it depends on a company-by-company basis. Seeing as regulations still have a way to go perhaps some would try to avoid abiding by laws and good practices.

⚠️ I was shocked by his response. Expecting a disgruntled figure, he was desperate for the regulations to go further. He was in a difficult position as. Being accountable to the company CEO, his security decisions that were underpinned by the company's business objectives.

Before the conception of @IoTabl_UK , myself and the guys tried to develop a deeper understanding of the IoT security space. In particular:
❓ ‘Where does the accountability lie' ❓

🔒 I know NIS2 Directives is trying to make entities and sectors take measures that would assist in increasing the level of cybersecurity in Europe in the longer term - but this is pending.

❓ Leaves me wondering, is this the case for other countries also? How can governments be more responsible in their place to make IoT devices more secure?

Fantastic event and was the first conference that @iotabltyrone and @Kieran_Iotabl spoke at.
Conferences like @BSidesChelt are necessary for engaging cyber enthusiasts over important topics - such as security!
It's hard to believe that exactly one month ago we welcomed over 225 people for 18 talks over 1 incredible day. Thank you to all the speakers, sponsors and volunteers who made that day possible.
If you missed any of the talks they are on youtube: bit.ly/3JOIien 1/2
Next week's blog will break away from our usual Hacking for Beginners series...which gives you enough time to catch up on @Kieran_Iotabl's hacking journey 😉👇

Why take part in crowdsourcing?
You're actively improving the knowledge of the wider industry because of YOUR expertise
Build up a huge knowledge bank of data that helps to solve industry problems
Collaborate with other crowdsourcing enthusiasts and build up your own knowledge
Excited to be speaking at today’s @BSidesChelt event!
Looking forward to getting stuck in to some of today’s talks 🙌🏾
For others in attendance, be sure to join @IoTabl_UK talk at 11:35! We’ll discussing how a #community driven, #crowdsourced approach can help make #IoT safer!
Building a tech start-up, I thought it might be useful to begin @yu_angela's #100daysofcodechallenge - coding in Python
I've just completed #Day1. It'll be a long(er than 100 days) but, as with helping to make #IoT #devices #secure, the value is not in the journey!

Poll ending in two days. Would be great to get the input of any IoT Security Enthusiasts out there!
We want to get a Twitter Space going for #IoT Security Enthusiasts. It'll be a great way to get conversations going around key topics related to #security!
