Fellow reporter, Sherin Abu Aqla (age 51), the voice of Palestine, executed by the state of Israel while she was doing her job, wearing a Press vest. We condemn this and other aspects of Israeli apartheid.

Every year, the day right after COP feels like the most depressing day. However, there is no time for that. After frustration, anger, guilty, we just have to pick up and start the fight again. Hope rising from stronger young comrades and new business allies.

Not only did developed countries fail to deliver the long promised $100 billion of climate finance to poorer countries, they have also failed to recognise the urgency of delivering this financial support and setting a clear process for it

This is a great map by @artlebedev studio. All the countries scaled and shaped correctly. I thought of doing this but wouldn't have done it this well! #dataviz

1/ This Package is not perfect. The coal change and a weak outcome on loss and damage are blows.
But it is real progress and elements of the Glasgow Package are a lifeline for my country. We must not discount the crucial wins covered in this package:

#COP26: On the assumption that the text (uploaded at 1810 GMT) will not change:
The text is meek, it’s weak and the 1.5C goal is only just alive, but a signal has been sent that the era of coal is ending. And that matters.

"@TimmermansEU: Don't ask for more text, delete text etc.". Nobody wants more text, but you do need to deliver the money💸 and emissions cuts that will bring us to the 1.5C goal... #COP26
#COP26 observation: the less they do, the longer they speak. Kerry and Timmermans' speeches at the plenary reminded me of this meme.
“Stop saying that we are all in the same boat.
We’re all in the same storm.
But we’re not all in the same boat.”

Final stocktake plenary at #COP26 starting now. Now it boils down to a few sticking points. Loss and damage, whether the Article 6 proceeds will go to an adaptation fund. Both crucial for helping the most vulnerable people survive climate impacts now unfccc-cop26.streamworld.de/…
Developed countries want to push back L&D talks by 4-5 years, and no loss and damage financial facility.
Let's see if the UK, US and EU are about to collectively brush off historical responsibilities and kick the important talks to Egypt and UAE, presidencies that have less leverage over developed countries. #COP26 #TheWorldisWatching

History will judge #COP26 on whether or not leaders finally stand in solidarity with those suffering from the #climatecrisis. @JohnKerry @AlokSharma_RDG @TimmermansEU stop blocking the #GlasgowLossandDamageFacility and stand on the right side of history!

This is such an important climate investigation, I feel truly grateful for the tireless efforts of journalists and their editors, and the planet’s sharpest minds - climate scientists and modelers. #COP26
1. Last night, the Post published a major story of mine -- authored with 5 colleagues, aided by many others still -- that has been in the works for months. It was intense but I am so happy with the result

Today @BloombergNEF published its Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Factbook. Great stuff in here, starting with this: EV sales were 7% of passenger vehicle total in 2Q 2021. 🧵/1 bloomberg.com/professional/d…

"2.4C is total devastation" says @vanessa_vash in @TheCVF presser... quite a contrast to self-satisfaction from US + China. Reps from Bangladesh, Ghana, Uganda & India call out lack of $$$ from US and major economies plus lowballing on adaptation in current #COP26 texts
