Had nosey around our local disused glassmakers headquarters (literally you can just walk in...), it gave me immediate album-cover vibes. #photo #photograghy

Turns out its not actually been THAT hot in the UK after all...
A 129-day in Death Valley.

For anyone avoiding the heat and staying indoors, this documentary is one of the most harrowing things I've ever witnessed. It wasn't an easy watch, but my word it highlights what can go on behind the seeming normality of suburban life. netflix.com/gb/title/8192796…

People say @Linux is not ready for desktop... I'm trying to install Win11 on a clean machine (64Gb, 5950X, 3090Ti), so far the installer has crashed twice, lost Ethernet and then found it again for no reason afer a restart. I'd have Arch installed by now. What a piece of crap...

...and I've lost count of how many restarts.

...and now after enduring the misery, its still not done, here's all the other garbage. Honestly, anyone with any technical knowledge at all should swerve Windows. For reference I'm installing it on my gaming PC, which is purely for compatibility reasons, but, its borrowed time.

Honestly @Fedex, your service in the UK is disgusting. "We can only connect account holders to customer service". Oh, ok cool, so as the end customer I don't matter? Got that, nice.

Dear Lancashire County Council. I’ve finally reached the end of my very long tether. If you think by tarmacking these white circles on the B6246 from Mitton to Whalley you will have repaired the road, you must be on drugs! I pay over 100 car taxes & I demand it be done properly 🤬 **PLEASE SHARE**

Posted without comment (of how bad an idea it is to buy a car from a company that has absolutely no pedigree building cars, particularly 3-ton EV's with 600hp+) youtube.com/watch?v=UFd7Lmp-…

This is easily one of the stupidest things that our very stupid government has done
A big moment in Britain's industrial story happened today. The coke ovens at the Port Talbot steelworks were closed. This was where they baked the coal used to make millions of tonnes of steel. What you're looking at here is the last coke ever made in the UK. Pix: @TataSteelUK

Nice to see something factual in the news for a change, absolutely right - EV's are a stop gap to prop the industry up while Hydrogen gets rolled out, and retailers begin to stock and sell it... #imho

Got COVID on the 15th, tested positive on LatFlow, felt grim. Not feeling so bad now but, STILL testing positive today, this is not how I saw Christmas going down. #COVID19

Have to say, my early 80's kitchen is actually proving quite serviceable, if rather distasteful... #oldschool

Spent an evening in the crawl-space above the kitchen (the house is a Dormer) unfurling tons of horribly itchy insulation, owning a house is NOT rock and roll. #cold #insulation #house
