Thank you Hilary. We need to be clear what we mean by ״authentic” i.e Core Emotions as opposed to reactive i.e neurotic experiences of various emotions which can be hugely misleading; a common mistake many therapists make .
"When a person can be real and authentic about their feelings in the presence of an accepting, caring, non-judgmental person, anxiety is immediately reduced and closeness created."
