I don't expect anyone in real life to know my X account, because I use an AI generated photo, and don't use my full name. But one time, I was on a job site, and was chatting with a lab tech, and a strange look appeared on his face. He quickly walked off, then returned with his phone. He showed me the phone -- X app open to one of my posts. "This is YOU!" It wasn't exciting for me to be recognized, it was worrying. He followed me and shared a lot of similar views, so it wasn't a problem in this case, but it did make me reconsider sharing work-related stories or insights on X. I speak freely on here because I don't expect or want my political commentary to have any effect on my work -- neither for my employer, clients, nor vendors. There are too many wing-nuts out there who will use social media posts -- especially on political topics -- to try to create problems for people.
