They better not TRY this in the UK
Yesterday France announced tax of €0.055 per GB on internet traffic Today Germany is considering taxing all AI-generated revenue You will see European countries keep clawing more and more money from foreign companies as they are slowly running out of money themselves to pay for their pensions and welfare state Add to this the planned wealth taxes and exit taxes on any European who will try to leave (already active in many EU countries) Europe is running out of money

Gotta post about ts on TikTok before it becomes too known. Being on X as a content creator is like the Michael Jackson quote about ideas
folks in my college don't know about instinct or jev or 1,00,000 other ai assistants

Lesson in here.
i first came across ElevenLabs in 2023 when scrolling through reels on Instagram. I heard some text to speech unlike I'd ever heard anything before. it didn't quite sound human, but it was better than any other text to speech that I had ever heard. after that I searched far and wide for the product, and i believe the first time I ever saw the word ElevenLabs, it was in a Reddit comment. Once I found it I was hooked. I later made videos about it on my YouTube channel and joined the affiliate program. when I found out they were looking for someone to help with social media I jump on the opportunity asap. 555 days later here still here and very grateful.

From wispring to non verbal
We’ve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again. Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard. It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min. Pre-orders are now live at: subvocal.co/preorder?utm_sou…

What a world we live in. Alhamdudillah
New from ElevenLabs research: Today we’re sharing more about Cue, our new forced alignment model. It places every character on the audio timeline with more precision than any other aligner we tested. That means the right words show up at the right time. Forced alignment is the step that turns a transcript into timestamps. It’s how subtitles land on time, how dubbed lines match the speaker, and how clicking a word in a transcript jumps to the moment it was said. Most open-source aligners are built for short, clean clips in a limited set of languages. Cue is one model that handles recordings of any length in a single pass. On real-world audio, it was more accurate than every open-source aligner we tested in all 29 languages of our benchmark. It aligns an hour of audio in about half a second on one GPU. Cue already powers every Speech to Text transcription on ElevenLabs, and it’s available on its own through the Forced Alignment API. Read the full post: elevenlabs.io/blog/cue-align…

Every time I wanan try one of these free websites I’m met with something subpar and not made for windows users. @denk_tweets’s has a great argument for why everything should not be vibecoded in one of his essays
watching wispr and granola fight it out 😂 come to openwhispr for 100% free, open source dictation and meeting notes

Just remember who did it first
No one seems to be saying this so I will: I’m a little bit jealous of Dario. He has built something amazing, made unprecedented scientific and commercial breakthroughs, and done it with a loyal crew of mates including his sister. What a ride!

When are you coming to the UK?
I'm building a global network of creatives at @notionhq We're partnering with film students, creators, and cinematographers around the world to send them to small businesses to live in their shoes for a day. We call this the Field Storytellers program at Notion and the purpose is to document the awesome small businesses around the world that are using tech in insanely cool ways. So far we're already working with film graduates, students, and creators based out of NYC, Chicago, and Berlin. If you're a creative or a small business, please reach out - I'd love to hear from you.

Mithral medicine story is such a good story on high agency. @colossusmag when can we read a story on this ?
technical people need to realize that technical skills are generalizable. just because you're not a biologist doesn't mean you can't do AI&Bio. if a harvard mba can research and get a drug created with a claude subscription, you can too you have to think bigger, broader

Interested to see if they will lock your transcripts if you don’t upgrade to pro
Granola now does voice typing. Unlimited words, for free. Granola already writes your meeting notes. Now it can do the typing for you, in any app.
