What if a section of your intestine simply twisted on itself, cutting off its own blood supply in a matter of minutes?
It's called VOLVULUS.
In this visualization, we show how a mobile segment of bowel rotates around its mesenteric attachment, creating a closed-loop obstruction. As the twist tightens, both arterial inflow and venous outflow become compromised, rapidly leading to ischemia and, if untreated, necrosis.
