I think a stupid AI with access to the wrong buttons could press them. A superintelligent AI would, by definition, have the judgment not to. I would find that preferable to Trump. Too many people in AI conflate capability with intelligence. Being able to do something doesn't mean you have the judgment to decide whether you should.
That's why I think slowing down is one of the stupidest things we could do right now. We should be moving faster to build true intelligence: wisdom & capabilities. Building increasingly powerful systems without judgment is obviously a bad idea.
Ok, so it seems like everything on the internet decided to break in the last week. The best unreleased models in the labs today will probably have open source equivalents in the next 1-2 years. Everything needs to be secured... with AI!

Halo Campaign Evolved is an incredible game! I would have loved to see Halo 2 and 3 remade! @asha_shar, this seems like a bad reorg. Seems like the original Halo Studios team was laid off and now there's an Actvision team working on a prequel for Halo with a different engine.
Xbox reportedly had much bigger plans for Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes than fans may have expected.
The projects, reportedly known internally as “Project Manihi,” were being developed by Halo Studios before layoffs and the subsequent restructuring around Halo.
The planned Halo 2 remake could have included:
-Dual-wielding
-A more complete multiplayer experience
-Classic gameplay elements
The Halo 3 remake was reportedly even more ambitious, with:
-Multiplayer
-Forge
-Theater
-Firefight
-Additional missions
The idea was apparently to make the remakes feel like major flagship releases rather than simple visual upgrades. The plans were ultimately scrapped following the layoffs.
I hope Firefight is coming to CE and that folks from Halo Studios are re-hired to influence the prequel(maybe a completely different story). Sounds like Halo Studios is a skeleton crew now. Also sounds like Actvision wanted to turn Halo into Warzone which is gross.

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.
