Tonight we screened the film Weekend as part of @queerupduck at @BroadwayCinema and I got to introduce the film. That’s a first for me!
Can’t quite believe it’s here but tomorrow @JOP_Arts kicks off our 2 week LGBTQ+ arts festival in Nottingham @queerupduck. What started as a little idea of mine has flourished into events, shows, exhibitions, parties, drag, music & so much more! Eeee!
Today was a special day. Got my first ever car and got to drive independently for the first time. Didn‘t think I would ever drive and so glad I had such encouragement from the boyfriend and family to pursue this. I did it. 🚗

Did someone say LGBTQ+ Theatre? We're thrilled to be partnering with @NottmPlayhouse Amplify Festival to present 9 shows together.
Just a little something I’ve been working on… @QueerUpDuck a new LGBTQ+ arts festival for Nottingham taking place across 10 venues!

It’s frustrating that this is normal practice but got a funding rejection for a substantial project. First thing I do? Cut my fee. Protecting other artists salaries is a priority for producers but who looks out for the producers?
Come work on a really exciting Nottingham project I’ve been developing.
Commissioning a LGBTQ+ photographer with @CityArtsNotts and looking for an Assistant Producer and Marketing Coordinator to join the team here.
Come say hey!

Starting with Nottingham folk nominating their LGBTQ+ Heroes to be photographed for a new exhibition as part of a new LGBTQ+ festival coming later this year to the city… 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🎉
Hello Nottingham,
Do you know someone who inspires others and has made a positive impact in the Notts LGBTQ+ community?
We're looking for nominations for local LGBTQ+ Heroes to be photographed & featured in a new exhibition at @CityArtsNotts

Not sure who needs to hear this but…
You don’t need to be at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, live in London, have won awards, be associates at venues or have been awarded funding to be brilliant theatre makers.
Making your work and showing it to audiences, that’s success.
I had the immense pleasure of working on the funding bid for this 3 year arts investment of £1m to Ashfield. So incredibly proud of living and working across the Midlands and being able to support communities and arts development.
First time at a gig solo and I had the best time. Such a joy to visit @factoryintl to see the sensational @JanelleMonae live.
Let this sink in:
1/3 of performing arts freelancers reported average hour earnings below National Living Wage.
1/5 of performing arts freelancers work over 50 or more hours a week.
If this was a salaried job it WOULD BE ILLEGAL.

The 4th Big Freelancer Survey was published today and it’s - yet again - a shocking read that freelancers in the performing arts are AT BREAKING POINT.

I think my heart isn’t in theatre anymore. That’s not to say I don‘t love it, more a shift of priorities. I love culture and what it can bring. I love communities, art, grass roots culture makers but theatre? Theatre is tough. A weekly battle to make it, fund it, tour it.
I want to commit to investing in stories that make a real tangible difference, and I want to produce those sustainably, locally, yeah maybe nationally but with heart and rigour and I want to embrace a slower pace of culture making.
