Not many people seem to know about Metaplanet, Jaan Tallinn's VC firm. They are the most AGI-pilled firm on the planet, and are about to flip many of the tier 1s. > Invested in @GoogleDeepMind in 2011 > Led @AnthropicAI series A in 2021 > Doubled down on Anthropic in every round since. IRR hurdle for deploying capital into anything else was {absurdly high number}% for years > Anchored the premier AGI hedge funds (+Mythos) + in-house public equities strategy 4-person team in Estonia now managing 10s of billions AUM, liquid after $ANT IPO. Rationalist roots --> zero bureaucracy, cares about human survival & flourishing as north star, doesn't care who else is investing or how high status a founder / idea is Founders: congrats! you no longer need to play status games to raise a mega round for your civilization-scale moonshot. You can just pitch @metaplanetfund

OH: if you were swimming and a shark attacked you wouldn’t fight it. You’d divert it and try to trap it. Enterprises can’t fight agents with just defensive agents. They need real time defenses to divert malicious agents and sandbox them. Enterprises you’re in the water

I’ve decided we’re all gonna get breached in the next 12 months. It’s how we react and how quickly that seems to matter

SITUATION DETECTED: Following the massive cyberattack on Japan's GMO Internet Group, which led to fraudulent trades across 70+ brokerages and FX platforms, CEO Masatoshi Kumagai warns that the internet itself is on the verge of collapse.

Startup CEOs - 10x your cyber budget and no SOC2 does not mean you’re secure. More than ever enterprises are not accepting security theatre.

So Chainguard clearly fucked up but I agree. If attackers can figure out vulnerabilities in minutes or hours, we don’t have time for “due process” to alert the world
I 100% agree that the embargo period for 0days should never be broken by a trusted party, but I think the security industry need to reevaluate how much time these embargo’s could realistically afford to wait now that cyber models exist. During the KVM escape vuln a few weeks ago, @0x4D31 was able to independently discover the vulnerability within a few hours simply by giving a semi-redacted tweet from the security researcher to a cyber model. xitter.cf/0x4d31/status/21107976… We of course respected the embargo period and did not share details, but you can imagine if we were able to do it then anyone motivated enough can as well. Ultimately I think embargo periods need to be measured in hours, not weeks or months. Vuln discoveries now travel as fast as rumors

Request for cyber companies: - Agentic IR - Defensive agents that rotate underlying models per task to respond to agentic threats - JIT agentic auth - Long running cyber agents to do detection & response - Secure inference on US hardware - Western powered cyber nuclear deterrent

Ok story time, because as usual @caitlinbolnick1 is under selling herself. She blew up our annual offsite (thanks again CB!) to force us to talk about custom manufacturing and why @sendcutsend can generate $4b+++ in revenue.
Broke all the rules for this one. Absolutely STOKED to make this partnership official. It all started when I went to Jim for help with an anodizing line that I was considering buying. He told me I was nuts, I soon realized I was nuts, and a friendship was born. Investing in Jim might have been one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made. He’s the EXACT type of founder and business I want to be a part of. What he has built is truly incredible. And the best part is that Jim and SCS are just getting started. @CRV is honored to be on the ride. LFG!!!!🔥🔥🔥

We firmly believe that it is the GP's job to articulate why each company can be fund returner even if it's breaking "the rules". In an era of mediocre ownership and high entry prices, the math ain't mathing when it comes to some projects. The days of 25% ownership are long gone

For @caitlinbolnick1 and SCS, she firmly believes this can be a needle mover for both the fund and an enduring company for us and our LPs. Thank you for your conviction and @jimbelosic, thank you for your trust. CRV Reno Office incoming....

Is AI just going the way of EVs? China floods the market with good, but not quite great cars, at 20% of the price of the US products that are slightly better and people only buy because they’re not from China or they really care about the premium experience?

You have been warned 🙃🙃🙃
Last week some of South Korea's biggest banks were hit by a cyberattack. Thanks to a report from CrowdStrike tonight, we now know the entire hack may have been done by a single person. He used a combined stack of an open-source AI penetration tool named ARTEX, DeepSeek v4.1-Flash, GLM-5.3, Grok 4.6, and Claude Code.

Strong disagree. Not a “option bet” for the founders and not an option bet for us.
Every seed investment is an option bet. “You have to think about the venture portfolio as a bunch of options. Each seed investment is an option bet. You are buying an option to see if it is an outlier, and you want to have enough of those to make sure you have an outlier. When there is true quantitative evidence that it is going to be an outlier, then you position size up.” @venkyganesan How do seed funds play in a world where mega funds are totally price insensitive and “option bets” is the mindset for seed checks @infoarbitrage @chudson @hunterwalk @honam @dunkhippo33 @jasonlk
