The moment. Both of my babies watching, my little sister sreaming, “that’s my sister,” hooded by @LDiAnneBorders. Dreams do come true! 🎓🤩👏🏾 #JustTheBeginning #PhinallyDone
This tool is the culmination of years of research, reflection, and dedication to understanding and addressing the race-related psychological stressors experienced by Black women.
Just wrapped up a webinar w/ @PerinatalWA exploring what screening tools and diagnostic criteria often miss in BIPOC perinatal care. We named silence as protective strategy, challenged Westernized norms, and centered relational care. 👏🏾 #DrGM #BirthJustice #PMADs #BlackMMH
Yesterday, I facilitated a 4-hour training with @PerinatalWA. We named systemic harm in perinatal care, discussed race-related stress, and called in doulas, CHWs, lactation consultants, nurses, doctors, and therapists because every role matters on the maternal health team.
Grateful to have presented at the 2025 Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC) Virtual Symposium with other clinicians, educators, and advocates committed to minority mental health care. linkedin.com/posts/jasmine-g…
I’m deeply indebted to the clinicians who shared their insight and to the Black women whose lived experiences continue to inspire my work. A huge shoutout to my brilliant co-authors, @LDiAnneBorders & @christianxderek, for your support in getting this to the finish line!

I had the pleasure of leading a training session today in Asheville, NC for doulas and maternal health advocates. I used a training model I co-created that’s designed to help these professionals, who aren’t doctors or nurses, recognize risks related to maternal mental health.
The training includes my screening tool (fingers crossed it’ll be published soon) & it makes sure doulas know how important they are in the maternal health system. We need to include them in efforts to make sure more Black women get screened & diagnosed for mental health issues.
And the best part? Doing it all with @LoidalyMarie! 😀
Yesterday, I had the immense pleasure of participating as a guest panelist alongside other remarkable scholars and clinicians, discussing culturally responsive maternal mental health care.
The roundtable, titled "Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Screening for Perinatal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders," was organized by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau's (MCHB) Technical Assistance Innovation Center…
under the Health and Resource Services Administration (HRSA). We had over 650 registrants and engaged with an incredibly enthusiastic audience on topics I am deeply passionate about. 😃 #DrGM #MCHBTAIC #HRSA #MaternalMentalHealth #RespectfulCare #CulturallyResponsiveScreening

Every Black woman in America empathizes with Kamala right now.
Overwhelming qualified. Still doubted.
