having friends and knowing ppl who are trying to break into the acting scene, u start to learn that a lot of these productions ain’t shit fr
When the show is set in NYC and or in college and there’s no Black women.. 😭 That’s why I’m waiting for see who they cast for Sid & Zoey because no way can you have a show set in MISSISSIPPI and not have black main characters.
Speaking on what’s happening now, I don’t think Biracial actors are replacing Black actors. Like I said before there is a Young Black Hollywood, the Black talent is there. I think biracial actors proximity to whiteness gives them an advantage in the industry, the roles they get to play, the sponsorships they get to have, the events they get to attend.
There is a Young Black Hollywood. Whether you check for them or not, that’s up to you, but there is a Young Black Hollywood.
Biracial actors are going to act, they’re going to be booked for roles. The actual problems are bigger than the biracial actors themselves. We are also not the only group that’s affected by this.
I want to know the breakdown of who the roles go to when the casting is open ethnicity. If majority of the roles go to white actors, there’s no point in labeling it open ethnicity.

the colorism, one drop rule, and representation conversations will never be solved because essentially people are asking you to forgo your hurt feelings about these things in protection of the ability to keep these things in place for people who benefit.
And even if Prime was sponsoring their actors to go to the event, they still wouldn’t have any young Black actors to send.
